Who: Claudio Kilgannon and open What: A walk to clear his head When: late afternoon Where: Wandering the park Warnings: Hallucinations count?
Claudio had finally decided to make himself known. It wasn't a mischievous prank, or even a cry for attention: he'd simply stopped hiding today. Invisibility was a good thing, and at the very least he now had a lot of practice staying like that for long periods of time.
He'd kept to himself most of the time, if not all of it, and the moments where he had to actually be seen he did it begrudgingly and quietly. It was just like high school all over again, only with superpowers and in a world that wasn't his own. He wrinkled his nose, stuffing hands into his jacket's pocket and letting out a sigh. He never thought he'd miss Hetricus, but he did. He missed Hetricus and Josephine arguing over who gets the car and the twins being obnoxious toddlers but most of all he found himself missing Apollo, the dumb dog he'd had since as long as he could remember.
"What right do you have to sigh? You haven't done anything. Everyone else is saving the world, you've been moping."
Claudio tried his best to ignore the voice, but he could still hear the footsteps trailing him. Nothing else was said for a few moments, but the fact that he knew he was being followed was beginning to ware his already nonexistent patience. Annoyed, he turned around and glared.
"Is there any particular reason you're bothering me?" He asked, finally turning around only to have Coheed Kilgannon grin and shrug.
"Is there any reason you're answering me?" The older man countered, and Claudio turned around again.
"I thought you were supposed to be the responsible one," he snapped, walking as fast as he could. He knew Coheed would follow--Coheed would always follow.
"Kid, don't talk like that. You know I never did well with that stuff. That was Cam's deal."
"Is that why she watched when you killed everyone? That doesn't sound very responsible to me," Claudio's words were icy, but he turned around with a heated gaze. Son's eyes met fathers, and the older Kilgannon chuckled.
"Why are you getting so angry? It's not like I'm your actual father. Just something you dreamed up."
"You still make me want to punch you."
"Like you did with that Virgil kid?"
"Will you SHUT UP!"
Claudio blinked and he was gone. For once, yelling at the top of his lungs had actually worked. He'd been arguing with..whatever that was for ages, now, and he was fairly certain it was just his mind playing tricks on him. He didn't quite like his mind pretending to be his father, but it wasn't like he had a choice. Groaning, annoyed at the entire situation, the teenager sighed for the second time and hoped no one had heard his one-sided conversation. Maybe it wasn't too late to crawl back into his bed and sleep for a century or two...
"I think I'm crazy," he muttered to himself, rubbing his face with the palms of his hands. He was definitely going to go back to his room.
