Booth would have been pacing if he could. His back hurt. Which in turn caused everything to hurt, so he was trying to be careful. Instead of pacing he fidgeted with his sleeve while he waited for news on Buffy. Seeing Willow's post on the boards made his heart stop. Buffy was hurt. He didn't know why or how, but none of that really mattered. What mattered was getting to her. He couldn't do it as fast as he wanted with his back the way it was. Every movement felt like someone was taking a knife and twisting into his shoulder blades and lower back. Repeatedly. Still he got up and drove himself to get Martha through it all.
By the time the two of them reached the hospital, Seeley himself felt like he was about to pass out from pain. But the important factor was Buffy. He wasn't going to leave her side. He stayed with the blond and her friend, made sure they were both safe, and didn't say a word otherwise about the difficulty he was having just staying conscious himself. It seemed like forever before they reached the hospital in the ambulance. When they finally did though, nurses were waiting for them. Booth felt a little more relieved. Until the walking he realized he'd have to do to get into the waiting room. He took it one step at a time, but it was hard. He wanted to run and be by Buffy's side, but it was the best he could do and it was frustrating.
Inside the waiting room, Seeley finally sank into a chair and pulled over a doctor who wasn't tending to Buffy to see if they could do anything about the excruciating pain shooting through his body. He was given a muscle relaxant and vicodin. Neither of which would kick in for about half an hour at the most, until then he was stuck in the room with Spike and Willow, sitting through the discomfort. He didn't like hospitals, but it was where Buffy needed to be.
