Buffy wasn’t sure if this was a good idea. She could hear a tiny voice in her head, telling her dozens of reasons why going off to see Booth was a bad idea. He was older than her. They were probably never going to work out. She was a slayer and he had his deal (which broke Buffy’s heart to think about). Then there was the fact he looked like Angel. She was over that now – for the most part. Yes, she missed Angel, and a part of her would always love him. But then Booth had happened, and the crazy had brought them together. He was a great guy, and Buffy really did love him. It just sucked (and also wasn’t fair) the first normal, great guy she met happened to be older than her…and have a deal. There had to be a way to break it. Now that Willow was here maybe they could come up with something, if not maybe Buffy could convince Bela to set things right.
It was worth a shot right? …maybe?
Buffy had yet to tell Willow about what was going on. Instead she told her friend she had a few things she needed to take care of and would be back later for more catching up, and probably the eating of food, and poking fun of old!Xander. She slipped out of the complex, this time making sure Spike wasn’t following her. The last thing she needed right now was for Spike to tag along. Buffy didn’t want to hear what she had a feeling the vampire would say. She could accept the fact he was a good guy now, but that didn’t mean she wanted to put up with him. Besides, the fact that the two of them apparently got together in the future, even though he had tried to do some horrible things to her - that she wasn’t ready to accept.
Once she got to the ice rink she rented a pair of skates, trying to ignore the fact the last time she had been skating had been with Angel. Why did he keep popping up in her mind? She was with Seeley now. They were a with now…right? What the hell were they? Could Buffy even call him her boyfriend? In the future they had been in she had, everyone knew they were together despite the fact Buffy had pulled back so much. Which she felt bad for. She really did.
She was clad in skin tight black leggings and a black zip up hoodie, with a slightly sparkly white scarf – at least some things hadn’t changed fashion wise. As soon as she went out onto the ice and saw Booth, her face broke out into a grin – she couldn’t help it.
“Well look at this,” she skated over to him. “You and me, happen to be at the ice rink at the exact same time. Funny coincidence, huh?”
