Who: Sam Evans and OTA
Where: an alleyway in Lawrence Kansas
When: Upon arriving, around early evening
What: Sam thought that he had been in the showers, but found himself naked in an unfamiliar alleyway.

It had been an ordinary football practice for Sam. Beiste had the team do their usual exercises and runs. Being a relatively athletic young man, Sam was never too exhausted by these things, but he was a little winded. He took to the showers to rinse away the sweat and achey muscles, enjoying the warm water run over his body. Showers always made him feel better.

He toweled off, using just that towel to dry his bottle-blonde hair a bit, and wrapped it around his bottom half. Who said that you couldn’t be too modest in a situation such as this? Then the strangest thing happened. As he turned the corner to retrieve his normal clothing from his locker he found himself in an alleyway. He was standing naked, aside from the towel, in an alleyway and the alleyway didn’t even look like it belonged in Lima. His mouth hung open in shock.

Slowly, he walked to the street beyond the alley, peering shyly around the corner then moving back to hide from the pedestrians. He was pretty sure that even in other places walking around stark naked was just not cool at all. Sam had no idea what to do next.

Luckily for Sam, the combined powers of Mike's jeep and Kurt's knowledge of the city meant that he wasn't going to be stuck in just a towel for too much longer. It was November and that meant that weather in Lawrence was dropping fast as night came on. Some nights meant 20°-30° weather and days weren't that much better. So Mike might have put his foot on the pedal a little harder after Kurt had reminded him on that boards that it wasn't spring in Lawrence anymore. The whole time jump meant that they were in November now and November meant cold. Very cold.

"Hey, I think I see it," Mike said to Kurt, as a bank came into view. There was an SUV in front of it and it seemed to be the only vehicle there. It didn't necessarily mean that it was the spot that Sam had been talking about, but it didn't hurt to check. "I'm going to park and see if Sam's running around." He was sure that if Sam had been noticed by other pedestrians, there would be a crowd and possibly police involvement, so the lack of a crowd meant that Sam was either hiding or he wasn't there.

Mike hoped it was the former because the latter meant they had to keep looking and trying to figure out where the newest glee arrival was.

Kurt thought there were both pros and cons to winter. On the pro side there's an entire wardrobe selection available that he couldn't wear during the summer. Sweaters, coats, gloves... He would put scarves on this list, but he managed to make them work all year long.

On the cons side was the fact that the cold, dry air caused him to have to step up his nightly moisturizing routine even more than usual. And the fact that cold was never very comfortable in the first place. Not that it was comfortable when it was hot, either, but that was neither here nor there.

At least Kurt could be thankful for the fact that of the two times he had shown up in Lawrence, Kansas, he had never shown up in nothing but a towel. He was always fully clothed, even if it wasn't always seasonably appropriate wear.

When Mike brought the Jeep to a stop at the curb Kurt looked around carefully, trying to spot a blond that he had never actually met but knew of anyway. After a quick moment of that being entirely useless, he let down the window, stuck his head out and yelled a quick, "Sam!" Hopefully, if the guy was nearby he would respond to the call.

Sam wished that they would hurry up. His feet had gone numb minutes ago but it felt like hours. Of course, it wasn’t as if he had done an expert job of giving directions to his whereabouts. He shifted his weight from one foot to the other anxiously. Finally, he heard a familiar voice calling out his name.

“Kurt?” He replied in response. “Kurt, I’m over here!” Sam walked almost gingerly to the opening of the alleyway he had turned into his hiding-place. He was pretty certain that it was still a crime in Kansas to wander about naked and he didn’t much want to spend time in the local jail.

Sam peeked around the corner to see a Jeep. A big smile of relief formed on his face and he gave a wave to indicate he was, in fact, there.

Hearing the return shout from Sam, Mike pulled away from the curb and drove toward the alleyway until he was pulled up alongside the mouth. He leaned forward a little bit, so he could be seen past Kurt. The doors unlocked as he grinned and said, "Way to make an entrance, Evans. Get in."

Even though there were other Glee kids here in Kansas, it was nice to see Sam. He hoped that his late arrival meant that he was from around the same time Mike was, that they had the shared the same experiences, and that someone could update him on his status with Tina. From what he had been told, nothing changed in their own worlds when they were taken, so supposedly his relationship was going strong.

"There's some clothes in the back," Mike added, gesturing to the pile of clothing he had picked out for Sam. "The shirt might be too tight, but it should be okay until we can get you back to the complex."

Sam tried to walk as quickly as he could while still keeping the towel wrapped around his waist. He didn’t much like the idea of flashing his junk to the passersby or Kurt and Mike. As carefully as he could, he took a seat in the Jeep.

“Hey, thanks guys.” He flashed his two friends from school an appreciative smile. “Can’t say I ever imagined I’d show up in Kansas naked or I would have gone around wearing pants in the shower all of the time.”

Sam lifted his arms and wiggled into the shirt, first. Putting on pants inside a moving car was actually quite a difficult feat, but with a lot of effort he found himself able to do that, as well. He felt a lot better clothed than he had naked.
