He flashed her a smile and, for a brief second, he saw her as he remembered her in the future...which was to say that she was still all tiny and cute, but he felt a surge of warmth toward her that was so unexpected, that it caused him to take a rather heavy step forward. Gaining control of his emotions which were all over the place, he smiled at her and nodded. "Thanks," he said, stepping inside and looking around her room.
It was a nice and uncomplicated looking room. He wasn't sure what he expected, but this reminded him of the space they had shared in the future. In the future. It never got any less weird thinking that. "I half expected this place to be covered in sticky notes," he admitted, grinning a little as he offered her the cups. "I'm not sure why."
He turned back to look at her, still smiling. Even if he was riding on his future self's feelings for her, seeing her made him feel a little bit better. Ever since getting back and being bombarded with all these feelings and memories, he had been having constant headaches and nightmares. So any amount of relief was welcomed.
Even if it spurred his confusion further, he was glad to see Kitty.
