Lavender only nodded. She wasn’t about to say she had been going to more than one pharmacy to get her prescription filled out multiple times at the same time. While Valium was legal, that definitely was not. She ran her hand through her hair, pushing it back from her face, pursing her lips.
“Hmmm,” she cocked her head in mock thought. “You can have it now, but only if you’re good.” She offered him a tiny smile. She downed the rest of her whiskey and then sat back in her chair. “You can keep the bottle,” Lavender said. “You need it more than I do.”
There was a lot that she wanted to say. But for now she decided against saying anything, she’d let Booth do that first. After all he had five years of memories, all she had was two weeks and a killer headache. Sure she remembered dying, when everything went down but that wasn’t the same – not really. Lavender fully believed that they had a second chance here, a chance to make everything better.
She would have given anything to have had something like that back in her world. Maybe then she could have stopped her parents from dying. She still remembered getting the owl with the news, that goddamn owl. Of course the owl said it had been an accident, and it would wouldn’t it. The truth came out later though, her parents had been murdered because her father the wizard, fell in love with a Muggle.
So in Lavender’s mind, second chances were great. Even if there was pain associated with it, if it could stop more people from dying? If it meant they could save people – then bring them on.
“You hungry?” Lavender asked. “I’ve ordered some food. Got extra just in case.”
