"Trust me Spike, Nebraska was not my idea," Buffy replied. "Besides I've been there and done that with the whole viva Las Vegas thing. Definitely not doing that again.” Buffy wasn’t about to go into details, the last thing she needed Spike knowing was she had gone undercover as a showgirl to take out a vampire nest. She had a feeling he’d get stuck on the showgirl bit and never let her hear the end of it.
She really didn’t get why Spike was here. It wasn’t like they talked much, or spent a lot of time together. Sure, Spike had helped out with the new vampire girl when Buffy had asked him too. And Buffy had intended on them to have a talk about what had happened between him and the other Buffy – the older her, one day. Of course that was before the world went crazy and she had bought herself a ticket to Nebraska.
Her brow furrowed at his explanation. "So you followed me? Great, just, great," she sighed, running a hand through her hair.
"Look, does it even matter," she wasn't in the mood for a heart-to-heart with Spike of all people. Although she as getting more and more used to the fact he was a good guy now, she still wasn’t fully used to it. The whole talking and sharing feelings thing was still weird to her. "It’s just better if I’m somewhere else okay? If you hadn’t followed me, everyone would think I just got zapped home and that would be that."
She sighed again and then glanced over at the rising sun and then back at Spike. "You should go."
