So much for a grand entrance. John hadn't even noticed the other man coming in and regretted emptying the place out like the last one. A searing, angry kiss and good wrestle would've made his week. Instead, he got an unappreciative comment and felt the need to jam the bottle into Jack's face to share it.
"You weren't here yet. Punctuality is not your forte, not when it comes to me apparently. What kept you? Tell me you left Eye Candy in the car to mope," John said with a smirk at the end. The bartender had just set out those four shots he'd ordered and he couldn't be more thrilled about it as he turned on the stool to face them and split the pair between them.
"So what'd you do wrong? Meaning the general devastation - isn't your team all about saving the world from this kind of thing? Disappointed in you."
The last line was spoken with a laugh and lift of a shot, John Hart with his head tipped down and looking up past his brows in a way that couldn't be less serious. It was all a big joke to him, but what else was new? The man had never really cared about anything but himself, not unless it was in brief spurts.
