"You can't feel them because they don't want to be found," Gabriel muttered, annoyance growing. He didn't want to believe that Zachariah and the others had just up and dumped him here for good. What purpose would it serve? Gabriel was out of the way. He wasn't interfering, he wasn't screwing up any of their big ol' plans. He simply...didn't get involved. Much. Outside of the pranking and lesson teaching thing that he did every once and a while. But it wasn't that bad! It wasn't like Gabriel was going around, spilling all their deep, dark secrets and making sure that they couldn't get their jobs done. Beyond that - how had they even found him anyway? It wasn't like Gabriel had been openly pasting his true name all over the place. It didn't make sense and it annoyed Gabriel beyond reason that he was here, stuck in this mess with a buncha humans that he didn't want to go down on their stupid, sinking ship with.
"They're here," he continued, squinting up toward the sky. "And if they don't come back down here and put things right soon, I'm gonna be one really pissed off archangel." Not that he wasn't already really pissed off. Because, hey, Gabriel was.
Chocolate chip bar. All right. It didn't look anything near what he could have rustled up on his own if he'd had his powers handy, but it was gonna have to do for now. Gabriel snatched the bar away from her and ripped it open. He sniffed at it, raised a brow, then leaned in and took a careful bite. Rather than finding himself taking in a mouthful of delicious, savory chocolate, Gabriel got a funky combination of granola, chocolate chips, and...something that tasted a little bit like dirt. Wonderful. Gabriel made a disgusted sort of face and swallowed the mouthful down with a scowl. "Please tell me you seriously haven't been living off of this crap," Gabriel groaned. He might have been starving, but he wasn't tasteless. This was a poor excuse for a chocolate flavored meal. "If I had my powers right about now, I'd take all these protein bars and burn them." Gabriel paused. "You know what? I think I might just go out of my way to find a lighter and some gasoline and go at it the old-fashioned way anyway!"
For a human, Gabriel realized that he was kinda whiny. But he was tired and hungry and sore and - yeah. Definitely whiny.
