"I know plenty of civilized cannibals," Gabriel replied casually. He watched the girl closely, half wondering how it was that she had been able to take down that Croatoan infected human like that. The face was familiar, but what was the name? Gabriel wished that he could reach out and feel as to who and what she was right there on the spot, but he couldn't do that anymore. Nope, he had to go about all this blindly, which was turning out to be a real pain in the ass.
"Not broken," Gabriel pointed out. "Inconvenienced. I'm the inconvenienced angel who, by the way, didn't need to be rescued. Old hag like that, I'd have turned her into -" Into what? He didn't have his powers anymore. Gabriel rolled his eyes in self annoyance.
Another look at the woman made Gabriel realize that she was the crazy one he'd been talking to over the boards. Well, well, well. "Being crazy doesn't mean that you've gotta stalk someone, you know," Gabriel pointed out, arms folding over his chest. "You don't have to live up to the hype. Or, better yet, if you're gonna stalk me, at least bring me some food. You people picked away every bit of decent food around here, didn't you?" Gabriel still wanted his chocolate. That wasn't subject to change anytime soon. In fact, it was becoming more and more likely that he was going to end up spending the rest of his time here seeking out chocolate and yelling for Zachariah to come back and put him right.
It was a good plan. Better than being eaten alive or, hey, barbecued by Miss Crazy over there.
