Before leaving, the demon had quickly weighed her options. She could have taken the car and gotten further, but for some reason there weren't that many silver convertibles in Lawrence. Instead, she headed out on foot, constantly checking back over her shoulder and keeping an eye on all the people around her.

She knew that she should have ducked out of this body earlier. But she hadn't because she liked Lois's body. She got away with all sorts of things because of having it, not to mention got to find out lots of little things through that network of theirs.

And then the demon in Lois's body quickly ducked into a small alley, pressed herself against the wall and peered around the corner. It just wouldn't work if they found her, now would it?
