Booth was the kind of person who needed physical reactions to be reassured. Sure he was amazing when it came to reading people through body language, but he wasn't an FBI Agent anymore, and he didn't want to live out the rest of his life that way either, that was for damn sure. He wanted nothing to do with the feds anymore, and he almost went to that dark place the depression lived when she laughed and looked at her with the confusion of a scruffy puppy.
"My..Hey." He watched her suspiciously for a minute before his own grin broke out. "That's pretty spot on for someone who doesn't read comics. " The FBI would always be a part of him, when he made connections, they were logical and connected just like he was trained. He knew he couldn't get rid of it or erase that part of him, so for the time being he just let it slide and shook his head with a faint amusement.
"Yeah, it's Superman. Goodbye is Hello, happy is angry, sad is happy, up is down, and down is up." He tried for some easy connections that hopefully he wouldn't lose her from. His fingertips caressed her cheek and ran down her neck with such softness that it even surprised him. He'd forgotten that he could be so gentle, almost everything he did lately was for their camp. Pointing guns at croats, shooting croats, fixing whatever needed to be fixed plumbing and electricity wise, that kind of thing didn't usually call for a soft touch.
