"Okay, yeah." Sam let himself loosen up, that way Ruby could feel that he wasn't going to try and fight her anymore. He lay flat on the ground, his only current physical task being that of focusing on watching Ruby above him. He didn't want to hurt her again. Didn't want to leave her all over again - to make her suffer as much as she had already. He had to, but Sam didn't want to. Still, for now, he had to play the part. Had to pretend that he was going to stay here and not run off on Ruby when she needed him to be at her side so desperately.
Coward, Sam thought bitterly. It hadn't been the first time. Sam looked up at Ruby worriedly, following up with an eager nod. "I do love you," Sam said honestly, "I'll stay, okay? I'll stay with you and we can do whatever you want. Just...I need clothes. I'm cold." He was, too. Still so cold. Ruby sitting on top of him was a nice feeling though. Her body gave him more warmth than he could have ever gotten on his own.
