Her vision swam as the pavement rushed up to meet her, and she had a moment's panic, because she was supposed to be on her feet, not falling over - she was...she used to be...a dancer, graceful, she could have danced with a troupe, probably should have, and she hadn't thought of that in years so why did she start thinking about that now? Something stopper her, suddenly, and her glazed blue eyes stared for a moment at the ground, wondering why it was so close, when it suddenly started to move further away again.
The bag of food slipped from her fingers when he caught her, and both of her hands clutched his arms for support. “I’m…s-sorry I wasn’t f-fast enough.” Her eyes closed as a fresh wave of pain hit when he lifted her off her feet, a groan escaping her lips. Her head fell to his shoulder as her hand returned where the blood fell from her side, pressing against it weakly. “I n-need help…” she whispered it absently, practically delusional from the pain. Vaguely, she felt him walking quickly, and she shook her head.
“Wait…the food…” She waved a hand back towards where he had picked her up. “You need it.” Her main concern at the moment was for him and the people living with him, though it was pretty obvious that she was probably close to death herself; but for now, she wouldn’t think about that just yet. “I tried to be f-faster…” her voice trailed off as her hand fell limply into her lap and she drifted into unconsciousness.
