======================

This was all wrong. Completely wrong. Was this what they had all been fighting to stop? From all appearances, given the state of the world in this time, they had lost the battle, possibly even the war. It did look quite bleak right now. There were some people still around that he recognized from before, though they were a little.. different. But some had been casualties from what he understood. He had attempted to reach out to others on the team from before, when they lived together at the old complex. Unfortunately, he had yet to discover where Clark was, if he was still present.. which he wasn't sure of. Victor wasn't around either. But there were resistance camps. John decided to check those out and go from there. Maybe he would find more information if he worked with some people. Probably even see if Babs would have any intel. Or Xander? From what he remembered, the man was also part of the Tech and Security squad in the past. Maybe he could tell him about what happened to Vic, Clark, Nightwing, or anyone else in the hero business that they had known. So after soaring over the various cities, an occasional red streak behind him when he was fast enough, the Martian noticed a secluded area. Had to be one of the several camps. He was suspecting that he might not be warmly welcomed right away as most people were probably suspicious about others like him who had shown up in this time. But if he didn't take those first steps now, he'd still be in the dark. Or at least find the answers after a much longer time than he wished.

So he quickly descended, landing about a few feet on the outskirts of the camp. He hoped he wouldn't be greeted by anyone who was the type to shoot first. Not that he couldn't react to that. He was pretty resistant, plus he could become intangible if needed. But he would much prefer to avoid a confrontation in any case. He thought it best to not do any action that would make him seem a threat. Though probably if any saw a man flying and then coming down was unusual enough. Then again, they'd very likely been in contacts with folks that had all kinds of special abilities. Whatever happened, he would agree to whatever tests or questioning they wished to implement as far as he was concerned. He took a deep breath and steeled himself for the task at hand, starting to walk towards the main area.

Bonnie had arrived at Xander's camp a few days before, after making the decision to skip visiting Caroline like she had originally planned. But she had planned to leave some of her supplies at Caroline's and Damon's place during her original detour because she wasn't going to lug all the new supplies she had gotten from Danny through the hotzones on the way to Xander's. But because she couldn't think about Caroline without flinching, seeing her was out of the question.

So Bonnie had ditched her supplies in an abandoned cellar on the way to Xander's, with the intention of picking it up later. It was why she was coming back to the camp so late that night. She had run into a few Croats while retrieving her supplies, but she was fine and without a scratch on her.

The camp was quickly coming up in her view, when her eyes caught something falling from the sky. She stopped and narrowed her eyes, when she realized, no, it wasn't something falling from the sky. It was someone landing. For a moment, she considered her options, before she decided that she hadn't heard of a flying Croat before and she doubted that was the case now.

So she quickly left her bags full of supplies where she had been standing and approached the figure. She already had a spell ready in case this went in the wrong direction, but Bonnie hoped she wouldn't have to use it. "Hey, you," she called out, as she slowed her approach. Bonnie was just far enough away that she could run if she needed to, but still within talking distance.

John had been walking with purpose, trying to take in everything that he saw. It was just as different as the rest of the world he had seen so far. Earth was a war zone. Kansas as well, but everyone all over, what little was left, were fighting to survive. He regretted not being here to help stop it. Or to at least help defend against it. How had he died? He didn't remember it. It must have been something big. He had been curious if it was Lucifer himself. Or maybe a host of overwhelming numbers. He was capable of many great things and not easy to get rid of.. but it wasn't impossible. He paused then, momentarily slowing down in his stride when he saw someone approaching him from a distance. There was the option of flying off yet again, but that wouldn't solve anything. He needed to be here. And he wasn't the type to just run off before assessing a situation. "I come in peace," he said, hands raised slightly. He immediately realized that sounded cliche since he was a Martian even though he was unsure if this one knew that much about him. She could have at least saw him land, however, with no need of equipment.

The man stopped completely, not moving or take any further steps toward the woman. Best not to make himself a threat. "My name is John Jones," he called out then, explaining himself, "or at least, that is my Earth name. I don't know why I'd be sent five years into the future or whatever tragedy happened to me then, but I'm here now to enlist in the battle. Can you tell me what camp is this? And who's in charge? I'd like to join them." It was also evident that he'd have to submit to a few tests to prove he wasn't a demon. He obviously wasn't a zombie, but one couldn't be too careful. But he would be as cooperative as needed when they got to that part.

Bonnie couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at his clichéd greeting. Some things, even at the end of the world, were just too corny for her to handle.

She considered whether or not summoning a fireball was warranted, when he started to talk about time travel. Bonnie had heard about all these people supposedly coming back to life, but she had no real idea about what was going on. With no way of knowing whether this guy was dangerous or not, she said, "If you know about the camps, you should probably know I can't tell you anything until we put you through some tests. We have some awful luck with the dead coming back to life," she explained, understating that particular brand of luck.

Screams in the far distance, barely audible to the human ear, sounded as if to emphasis Bonnie's assertion. She grinned grimly, nodding toward the camp's entrance. "Just keep on walking, Mystery Man, and we'll figure it out." She tossed a quick look behind her to make sure she was still in the clear, before walking backwards to pick up her bags. Bonnie then joined him on the walk toward the camp.

John simply nodded at the mention of camps. "Of course, I understand that." He supposed most camps wouldn't last too long if they just freely volunteered important information to anyone that walked in.. or dropped in. Even if he had been a very useful ally in the past. But of course that was roughly five years ago. He'd noticed how much things had really changed around here. Didn't seem to be getting better. Hopefully the other ones who were resurrected were on the good side too. It would appear that they were, from what he read on the network lately. But they still couldn't take chances, he knew that. There was still a risk of a threat or too slipping in and the tests were the best way to get down to the bottom of things.

"Okay, I'll follow you." He tarted walking again, after her lead. No sense in flying there or running at superspeed; some of those here might be even more suspicious at the red streak from it. So he just followed her. He was curious as to what sort of tests they would be. Salt, no doubt, that was a given. Maybe a silver weapon as well.. but due to his resilience, he'd probably have to use it himself. But either way, he would agree to whatever needed to be done once they reached the spot. And then it was possible he could learn more about what happened his past friends or team mates. But more importantly, about how he could serve the camp best. But after the examination.. for now he had to prove himself to be an ally and not a foe.
