“You what?” He kept his voice low, but anyone could hear the tremor in it as he spoke. Damon couldn’t believe what he was hearing. He shook his head and was silent for a few seconds. He had been wrong. This was terrible and probably couldn’t be fixed. It all had him feeling suddenly helpless.
Damon made his way onto the floor where Caroline sat. He grabbed her shoulders and turned her to face him.
“Why??” He looked horribly angry, but not at Caroline. He was downright pissed that Lucifer would have taken advantage of her like that. They weren’t even the humans that Lucifer hated with such passion. “Why didn’t you come to me, Caroline? Together, you and me, we could have protected all of your friends. What did you do?”
It was a disgusting thought, having the one other vampire he actually cared about belonging to that monster of a fallen angel. He had no idea how he would make use of Caroline, but it couldn’t be good.
“Deals can be broken.” He nodded, his tone flat but somehow still laced with anger. “We’ll find a way.”
