The deal was done and over with. Caroline's soul belonged to him now, which meant that he had another soul that would help him finish what he had started. He would, too. The war had already been won, it was simply finding the correct way to tie all those loose ends together that Lucifer was concerned with now. That and, of course, making the lives of these humans as miserable as possible while he still could. They wouldn't be around to torment forever. If he got angry, Lucifer couldn't just track down some pathetic soul and rip it apart with his bare hands. But then, Lucifer was fairly certain that once the humans were gone, he wouldn't have anything to get angry about to begin with. He would be happy. Content. The world would be free, his family would come back to him, and they would all see. Yes, they would see. He had been right.
"You can go about your business for now," Lucifer decided, straightening out his jacket thoughtfully. "When I need you, you'll know." That said, Lucifer tilted his head to the side, looking almost as though he were listening to something. Yet, at the same time, the area around them was completely silent and still. He wasn't listening here though - Lucifer's attention was elsewhere.
After a brief moment, he smiled softly and looked to Caroline. "There's a small camp a few miles north from here. Maybe you should go eat. Rest a little. You're going to have a lot of hard work ahead of you." That statement sounded so normal, but it was far from it. Caroline was a vampire, after all. When Lucifer said eat, he didn't mean for her to go running to the other humans for a meal. He meant that the humans were her meal. Lucifer found that he kind of liked the idea of vampires. They were truly barbaric creatures themselves, living off of their lust for blood. It was especially intriguing, considering that humans weren't too far off from that lust for things themselves. They were just a little better at hiding it, being fangless and all.
