Lucifer offered her a soft smile. "Your friends are lucky to have someone who cares for them so much in their lives. I hope they realize it." Lucifer squeezed her shoulder; it was a comforting gesture, but only if the one receiving it would accept it as such. "As promised, I will keep them safe. My demons will not harm them and they can expect no trouble from me, personally, for a time. I will kill them eventually." Lucifer wasn't going to fill Caroline with false hopes that her friends would be able to survive this apocalypse. That would completely eliminate the purpose of his plans, keeping humans alive. They would all go. Then, soon afterward, his demons would perish as well. The world needed to be restored to it's former glory. No humans. No demons. Pure earth and animal alike - a time before Adam and Eve were born, their taint ruining the most beautiful planet in all of creation. Maybe then, his family would return. They would see and understand. Lucifer, as always, had been right. The world was so much better off without the plague of hairless apes corrupting it with their filth. They would see. More importantly, He would see.
Once he was finished, of course. Lucifer couldn't get ahead of himself. He still had an awful lot of work to do.
"I won't push you." Lucifer let go of her shoulder. "You have to seal this yourself. State your terms out loud. Agree to them, then kiss me." Lucifer didn't smile, like the traditional villain would. Instead, he looked a little upset. From Caroline's perspective, she might have been able to mistake the expression for concern. In reality? Lucifer was a little concerned for himself. Humans were...humans. Disgusting things, really. He had followed through on a few deals since his return from the cage, but Lucifer was hardly as accustomed to the process as his demons were. Ironic, considering that he was the one all of the deals came back to anyway. It was simply...kissing a human. Hardly the most appealing thing to a creature who happened to hate them all with such a passion that he had spent an eternity in Hell waiting to destroy them. But a deal was a deal, no matter how unfortunate sealing it was going to be. Lucifer lifted his chin proudly and looked down at Caroline, for all the world trying to look patient and understanding rather than outright repulsed.
