WHO: Sam & Ruby
WHAT: Sam has something he needs to ask Ruby.
WHEN: Evening.
WHERE: Their apartment.
RATING: TBD!

Azazel had gotten away, but Mom was safe. The fact that they had failed to catch him was frustrating for all parts Winchester, but the important thing was that Mom was alive. It was completely up in the air on whether or not she was actually okay, but she was certainly alive. They also knew that Azazel was out there, which meant that they would be able to prepare for the moment when he chose to strike at them again. That was, if they didn't find him first. Sam was personally doing all he could to dig up information on the whereabouts of the demon, even if doing so was proving to be just as frustrating as the concept of the son of a bitch escaping to begin with. He wouldn't stop looking. Azazel had nothing but death coming to him and Sam would be damned if he didn't see to it that Azazel received it specially gift wrapped from Sam himself. In the meantime, though, Sam had other things on his schedule. He had taken the time out to make sure that Mom was okay (she seemed to be, but Sam was pretty sure that half of the stubbornness in their family came from her side), so now Sam found that - outside of searching for Azazel via omens and word of mouth - he could finally focus on other important things too.

Like Ruby. They had been up and down on one hell of a roller coaster ride lately, but things were getting better now. Sam had realized that she had only been looking out for him and his family and Ruby had, once again, proved that she still had his back. She could have shrugged and agreed to feed him as much blood as he wanted because of the situation that they had been in, but Ruby had refused him. She knew that Sam couldn't handle another dose of blood. It'd be the end of the line for him; he'd never come back from it, not again. So she told him no. She dealt with his anger, his terrible behavior, and stuck by her decision all throughout his breakdown. It might have seemed like a tiny thing to someone else, but it wasn't to him. Ruby had gotten stronger lately. She was learning to say no to him, she was thinking for herself, she was looking out for his family, and she was making right decisions without Sam having to tell her the difference. Sure, she slipped up every once and a while, but who didn't? As long as she didn't go running back to the other side or take up killing humans again (which was never going to happen, because Ruby was different now), she'd be fine. Sam was sure of it.

Knowing that made Sam sure of another thing as well. Something that he had been considering for a very long time and was finally fully ready to follow through on. He had been pushing himself to wait for a more appropriate time, like while they were on a date or something, but Sam couldn't wait any longer. What they went through with Azazel, among other things, really had put things in perspective for him. He was ready. And maybe, because of how sure he was about Ruby, she was ready too. If Sam waited any longer to get what he had buried deep down for weeks now out in the open, maybe he'd never get it out there at all. Things were always happening in Lawrence. Demons attacked them, monsters rampaged the city, one weird thing after another happened without fail, and the apocalypse in itself was getting worse and worse. Waiting wasn't an option anymore. He needed to do this, because if he didn't maybe he'd never get the chance to. Sam needed to ask her and he needed to ask her now.

He pushed away from his desk, rough hand sweeping across his face and through his hair in one motion. Sam rolled up the sleeves of his shirt and pushed up from the chair he'd been sitting in. Right. Uh, how was he supposed to do this? Just ask her? Get down on one knee? Crap. He needed to look semi-presentable, didn't he? Sam paced the length of their bedroom and turned to the mirror. Plaid shirt, rolled up to the elbow. Jeans. Boots. God, his hair. What was with his hair? Anxiously, Sam ran his fingers through it, nervously trying to make himself look like less of a slob and more of a...something else. Something nice. What was nice? Smelling good. Yeah, that was nice. He reached out and picked up his cologne, spraying the bottle at himself a few times. Maybe a little too much. Making a face, Sam waves his arm through the air and tried to waft some of the scent away.

Okay, he was making it worse. He needed to just...put it out there. If he didn't do it now, he never would. Sam had to remember that. "Uh, Ruby?" Sam looked to the partially ajar bedroom door, knowing Ruby was only a few rooms over. "I need to - could you come here, please?"

"I like it better when you tease and give me what I want right after," Sam replied, kissing her neck firmly. He wanted to give her something for being such a painful tease - twice over. Sam bit down, careful not to dig his teeth in too deep out of fear that he might spill her blood. The last thing that he needed was to have his addiction get between them right now. When he felt that the spot he'd picked was right, Sam covered her skin with his lips instead and began to suck at it. A hickey wouldn't last as long as the ring on her finger - hell, Sam wasn't even sure if it'd last over the next hour with the way Ruby could heal up - but it was a definite territorial mark all the same. Once he felt satisfied that he'd effectively left a mark behind, Sam pulled back, examined the red circle on her neck, then grinned triumphantly. It took him less than a second to lean in and kiss it, his mouth already eager to explore the rest of her body now that he'd attended to business at her throat.

"I think I'm gonna leave a few marks on you," Sam said, brows rising a little. "Starting there," he said, speaking of the hickey he'd just left her. "And ending...well, we'll have to find out, won't we?"

Sam's hands slid up to the shirt - his shirt - that Ruby was wearing. He went for the top button, tearing at it carelessly. He didn't care if he popped the buttons off or if he ruined his shirt altogether; so long as he got to do what he wanted with Ruby, it wouldn't matter. The loss of a shirt he could pick up at any given thrift store to replace wasn't going to be any added weight to his shoulders, honestly.

Pulling it off her was easy enough. Sam threw it somewhere, pausing when Ruby spoke again. "It's not wrong," Sam told her darkly. The darkness that was coming out in him was her fault, sort of. He got this way with her sometimes. But the darkness mixed in nicely with the sweetness, something that Sam was also very eager to dish out at his lover. "And I like it when you try and prove your points to me. You do it well." Sam grinned. "Annoyingly." He ducked his head down again, moving to leave another hickey on her right shoulder.

Getting teritorial. Ruby wasn't going to complain about that one little bit. Not ever. She lay back, skin on fire as his teeth sank into it, as he marked her as his. There was no one else here, it would have healed up before anyone slse could see but all the same there it was. A mark, his mark to go with his ring. The engagement ring he'd given her. The shirt she'd stolen from him soon followed, reclaimed and flung somewhere across the roo. That didn't matter. All that mattered now was them. So everything he did tonight, every way they celebrated. It was an expression of love. And the way he was making her feel she wanted to express it over and over again.

"I tease well huh?" she asked. letting her hands roam wherever they wanted. She was allowed do that now, unless they were playing and he told her no. That was the only way she was stopping any time soon.

"You know I did never get my wine/" she teased, her words betraying what she really felt. She'd been pleased that he'd gotten the wine for her and they would drink it, it was just...airing. You did that with wine didn't you? Aired it. She wanted nothing more than whatever he wanted to happen between them. However he decided he wanted to touch her, mark her. The hickey on her shoulder stung beautifully, just a sensation, less pain than he'd inflicted on her in the name of lust in days past. But still there. He wouldn't be able to hurt her in the same ways now, but they'd find others. Of course they'd find others.

"I'm going to have to prove my points Sam or you'll never respect the fact that I always win. We can't have that now can we? I heard it said somewhere it was the wife's perogitive to be right whenever she felt like it." There was also of course the annoying fact that if Sam kept this up she'd be willing to agree to whatever he wanted and more besides. He knew her too well, that had to be it.

She loved that about him of course, but right now it was making him very aware just how in control he was. And he loved being in control.

"If you didn't so tease well, you would be sitting here drinking your wine," Sam said as if it were matter of fact. "This is your fault. I was completely content to let you have your drink, and..." Sam slipped his fingers underneath her shoulder, finding the clasp of her bra with ease. A layer she didn't need. They were engaged - there was probably something in the rulebook that stated that an engaged couple had to spend their first evening as an engaged couple entirely naked. It went with the celebration, even if they had kind of skipped the part where they actually did the traditional wine and snack thing. That didn't mean that they couldn't go back and do it afterward, but right now Ruby had Sam riled up beyond reason and he'd be damned if he had to sit around sipping at wine for the next hour. Not when he was feeling like this.

Sam flung her bra aside, immediately moving down to kiss her again. "You always win? Really?" Sam smirked lightly against her skin, finding a spot just on top of her right breast that he fully intended to leave another mark on. "I think you're wrong about that one." Sam sucked at her skin hard, distractedly pulling one of her legs up and around his waist as he did so. The wounds would probably heal by the time he finished with her, but Sam didn't care. Looking back, even for a second, to find that he had managed to make her his own was worth it.

Of course, now that they were engaged, all he had to do was look at her hand. The ring would be there. She was his.

"You can pretend that you've found your victory, but I'm the one getting my way right now, aren't I?" Sam pulled back, eyes dropping down to the new mark he'd left on her breast. Pleased, Sam decided to go for her left hip next.

Her fault. She supposed she could live with that, the wine would become a way to cool them down after, she thought as his fingers slipped behind her back to undo her bra. He went to work at her breast, leaving yet another mark, sending little shivers of delight all through her. He was amazing and he was hers. It didn't take much effort for him to pull her leg up and around his waist, all Ruby could do was like back letting herself feel every sensation, every bite, every movement of his mouth. She could lie here for hours just letting him do what he wanted, letting him show her exactly how much he loved her. Was this going to be married life, she thought looking down at the hand that was gripping the coffee table to steady herself, the hand wearing his ring.

"So...maybe you win" she told him as he pulled back, all she could do was turn her head to face him practicly begging him to continue, after meeting his gaze she stole a glance down over her body, the marks he'd left still there, they'd say for a minute or two more and then heal up just like her arm used to do. But for now, he'd marked her. He'd already found new ways to keep that side of their sex life going and she expected he'd have more up his sleeve.

"You should know I like when you get your way in the bedroom. Or, y'know, the couch. Or wherever." she told him. The anticipation of having him where he was, right on top of her. His decisions, his choices dictating what was going to happen next. And she couldn't help it, she had to push him just that little bit more "I suppose it shows that I get what I want even when you win" she teased.

That was a part of why they worked so well of course. She loved when he took charge, he was always so attentive to her, she had never failed to be fulfilled when he did. "You're just lucky I love you" she told him, pleased with herself
