WHO: Sam & Ruby
WHAT: Sam has something he needs to ask Ruby.
WHEN: Evening.
WHERE: Their apartment.
RATING: TBD!

Azazel had gotten away, but Mom was safe. The fact that they had failed to catch him was frustrating for all parts Winchester, but the important thing was that Mom was alive. It was completely up in the air on whether or not she was actually okay, but she was certainly alive. They also knew that Azazel was out there, which meant that they would be able to prepare for the moment when he chose to strike at them again. That was, if they didn't find him first. Sam was personally doing all he could to dig up information on the whereabouts of the demon, even if doing so was proving to be just as frustrating as the concept of the son of a bitch escaping to begin with. He wouldn't stop looking. Azazel had nothing but death coming to him and Sam would be damned if he didn't see to it that Azazel received it specially gift wrapped from Sam himself. In the meantime, though, Sam had other things on his schedule. He had taken the time out to make sure that Mom was okay (she seemed to be, but Sam was pretty sure that half of the stubbornness in their family came from her side), so now Sam found that - outside of searching for Azazel via omens and word of mouth - he could finally focus on other important things too.

Like Ruby. They had been up and down on one hell of a roller coaster ride lately, but things were getting better now. Sam had realized that she had only been looking out for him and his family and Ruby had, once again, proved that she still had his back. She could have shrugged and agreed to feed him as much blood as he wanted because of the situation that they had been in, but Ruby had refused him. She knew that Sam couldn't handle another dose of blood. It'd be the end of the line for him; he'd never come back from it, not again. So she told him no. She dealt with his anger, his terrible behavior, and stuck by her decision all throughout his breakdown. It might have seemed like a tiny thing to someone else, but it wasn't to him. Ruby had gotten stronger lately. She was learning to say no to him, she was thinking for herself, she was looking out for his family, and she was making right decisions without Sam having to tell her the difference. Sure, she slipped up every once and a while, but who didn't? As long as she didn't go running back to the other side or take up killing humans again (which was never going to happen, because Ruby was different now), she'd be fine. Sam was sure of it.

Knowing that made Sam sure of another thing as well. Something that he had been considering for a very long time and was finally fully ready to follow through on. He had been pushing himself to wait for a more appropriate time, like while they were on a date or something, but Sam couldn't wait any longer. What they went through with Azazel, among other things, really had put things in perspective for him. He was ready. And maybe, because of how sure he was about Ruby, she was ready too. If Sam waited any longer to get what he had buried deep down for weeks now out in the open, maybe he'd never get it out there at all. Things were always happening in Lawrence. Demons attacked them, monsters rampaged the city, one weird thing after another happened without fail, and the apocalypse in itself was getting worse and worse. Waiting wasn't an option anymore. He needed to do this, because if he didn't maybe he'd never get the chance to. Sam needed to ask her and he needed to ask her now.

He pushed away from his desk, rough hand sweeping across his face and through his hair in one motion. Sam rolled up the sleeves of his shirt and pushed up from the chair he'd been sitting in. Right. Uh, how was he supposed to do this? Just ask her? Get down on one knee? Crap. He needed to look semi-presentable, didn't he? Sam paced the length of their bedroom and turned to the mirror. Plaid shirt, rolled up to the elbow. Jeans. Boots. God, his hair. What was with his hair? Anxiously, Sam ran his fingers through it, nervously trying to make himself look like less of a slob and more of a...something else. Something nice. What was nice? Smelling good. Yeah, that was nice. He reached out and picked up his cologne, spraying the bottle at himself a few times. Maybe a little too much. Making a face, Sam waves his arm through the air and tried to waft some of the scent away.

Okay, he was making it worse. He needed to just...put it out there. If he didn't do it now, he never would. Sam had to remember that. "Uh, Ruby?" Sam looked to the partially ajar bedroom door, knowing Ruby was only a few rooms over. "I need to - could you come here, please?"

Ruby loved every second of this, it was just them, just a burgening excitement that they were in this together now, forever. It was them, there was no one that could get between the love they shared for each other and they were going to stand up and declare that forever and ever they'd be one. Of course Sam's kisses were enthusiastic, of course his grip on her tightened with every moment. She smiled against his lips as his fingers slipped under her shirt, resting at her hip. Her heart seemed to skip a beat even though they'd done this a million times before, this and more. It seemed different now somehow. Now they were an engaged couple. There was no question of the love between them. Not anymore.

But of course the temptation hadn't left them. She wasn't about to lie to Sam, the way he talked about it, the way he touched her, his breath against her skin, every nerve in her body was alive and burning to just have him. And the demon she was craved the contact they'd once shared. "I wish you could too. I wish you could feel just how happy you've made me" she told him. They couldn't of course, there was only one way to do that and they couldn't. They both knew it. "We'll just have to find other ways to make up for it, won't we?"

Happiness didn't come easily for people like them. They'd come through a lot, and this was the first time in a long time she'd not been worried about something he or she herself had done, or something that was trying to hurt them, or worse her own jealousy or worry. There was a million reasons they shouldn't have worked and they'd come through them all. They loved each other more than anything else. And that was how it would stay now. They'd fight this apocolypse and they'd win. He pulled back from her and she laughed at the nickname.

"You know I'm actually not that tiny. You're just some kind of giant like in those books Hermionie is from." she told him teasingly. "Its just what it is." She would have this forever now, the jokes, the laughter. The feeling of pure love. And really good sex. No denying that. "We're really doing this!" she said, her hand sliding to meet his on her hip as her other hand entwined with his. "We're getting married?"

Sam couldn't touch her the way that he used to. It had been easier back then, just to reach into that body she had taken to and grab onto her. Sam could remember that moment in which he first discovered how it felt, back in that old warehouse where he and Ruby had been training together. She had felt so...odd. Yet he hadn't been afraid of her. Ruby felt nothing like any of the other demons he'd exorcised in the past. There was a cold, yes, but it also had something warm mixed in as well. Something that Sam liked to think existed because of all the time that they'd spend together, making Ruby less like them and more like...not like him. Ruby would never be like Sam or any other human in the world, no matter how much easier that it probably would have been for the both of them. But she was still far, far away from the creatures that Sam hated with a passion. She was her own brand of creature. Something new and alone. Only one. There was only one Ruby.

"I can think of a few ways," Sam said reassuringly, not wanting to stray too far into the subject no matter how badly he wanted to. Talk of his abilities led to talk of her blood. Sam didn't want to talk about her blood. If he did, he'd end up ruining tonight. Sam would think about how good she tasted, how much power there was running through her - No, Sam reminded himself, you're stronger than this now; you're going to marry her, so you'd better get it together, man. He couldn't have feelings like that anymore. Not if they were going to get married. Sam closed his eyes and drew in a sharp breath, steadying himself. Then he squeezed at her hip, opened his eyes, and smiled. There. A little better.

"You're not that tiny?" Sam shot Ruby an incredulous look. "Ruby, even compared to a normal person -" Sam leaned back to look her over, looking for all the world like he was stopping to check and make sure that he was right. Yep, he was. "You're tiny and pocket sized." Sam put his other arm around her waist and nodded happily. "Yeah, we're doing this. But we can't get married until you admit that you're teeny," Sam informed her. "I mean, c'mon. A person half my size could pick you up, throw you over their shoulder, and cart you around for giggles." Sam shrugged. In fact...

He grabbed her around the waist, bent forward, and hauled Ruby right up and over his shoulder. Grinning, Sam stood up, arm tightening around her so that she was securely hanging over his shoulder. "See? Easy. Now admit that you're tiny."

It was best overall if they didn't think too much about it. About her blood or the closeness it used to be able to bring them. They'd just have to be like everyone else now, show their love in the usual ways. Or as usual as they got. They'd never be completely normal but they worked. That had been the point of the proposal hadn't it. That they were in love in spite of all the reasons they shouldn't be. She loved Sam Winchester more than she'd ever expected being able to love anyone and here they were engaged. That was what was important, not her blood, not the power that came with it. They didn't need it because she didn't like what it did to Sam. It made him different. Terrifying. But they'd gotten through that, with Sam's strength and the help of Epiphiny's potion. He was doing better than she could ever have expected.

She watched Sam taking his time, getting past the temptation that she knew he was feeling. He was getting over it in his own way and at his own pace and that was what was important. She had never been more proud of him and stole a quick kiss as he squeezed at her hip, just before he leaned back. Mocking her height. Well he was one to talk. "I'm not that much shorter than a normal person. And I used to be taller remember? You like me like this, but I've seen tinier." she told him amused, "And who would actually pick me up and..."

Well that had been a stupid question, she thought as Sam did just that, picking her up by the waist and flinging her over his shoulders, where annoyingly she lay quite comfortably. "I admit nothing!" she said giving a squeal as he stood up with her still over his shoulder. "This is all a ruse so you can steal a good view of my ass" she told him lightly hitting at his back and kicking her feet, annoyingly unable to stop laughing at the fact he'd actually done it. Actually picked her up. "Put me down Winchester or you're not getting any tonight!" she told him.

It was an empty threat of course and she expected he knew it, generally all he had to do was get all in charge and insistant and she'd crumble, But maybe he'd think twice and she could get away and find a way to make him pay for the lifting up. Either way she wasn't going to admit to being tiny. Cause then he'd be smug.

"Hmm." Sam hoisted Ruby up a bit more, securing his grip on her. It was actually very easy holding her upright like this. She was tiny. Grinning broadly, Sam tilted his head to the side and peered off at her ass, rather pointedly. "You know, the view is actually very nice from up here." With a little shrug, Sam gave Ruby a squeeze with the arm that was supporting her, the other swinging loosely at his side as he strolled toward the kitchen as casually as he could manage. "I'm not getting any tonight? Really? 'Cause, hey, I'm pretty sure you couldn't resist me if you tried. I proposed to you, Ruby! I was all horribly romantic, with the kneeling and the wine, and the..." Sam stepped his way into the kitchen and turned over to the refrigerator. With his free hand, Sam pulled the door open and stooped down to dig up something to munch on.

"I can do this all night, Mrs. Winchester," Sam said gleefully, undoubtedly pleased that he was able to cart Ruby around to prove his point. "You might as well admit that you're tiny. It's the only way you're ever gonna get down." Cheese. Grapes. Cheese and grapes. That'd go well with the wine. Sam reached into the fridge and pulled both items out, then moved for the counter. He dropped the grapes into a bowl, rinsed them out in the sink, and turned to look at Ruby's reflection in the window, standing to the side so that he was able to see her face as he moved. "Tiny demon?" Sam raised his brows mockingly. "Would you like a grape?"

Sam liked that they could joke around like this. It only made him feel all the more confident that he had made the right decision in asking Ruby to marry him. He had worried for a little while that maybe things would be awkward after he popped the question, but on the contrary it felt very much like his doing so had eased a lot of the tension between them. They had endured some pretty serious crap lately. Being able to prove that they could push past that and straight on into something better was something that very few people could accomplish. But they could. Because, together, they were stronger. Together, they were happier.

It was settled then. She was marrying a jerk. She was still hoisted over his shoulder in the most undignified of positions while he made it his business to be as smug as was possible about this fact. In fact he was casually making a snack for them while he carted her around the kitchen being amused at himself. And even if her heart had given a jolt at hearing him call her Mrs Winchester he wasn't getting off that easy. Oh no. He would pay for this. Annoyingly though she did sort of want a grape, she thought, her mouth scrunching in annoyance as she thought of how best to go about this. Because she wasn't going to admit to being tiny. Because of course then he'd win and then would come the smug.

One thing she'd give him though, he had been romantic, he had gotten down on one knee and proposed and it had been amazing. So he could have that in his favor. "You did" she said from over his shoulder, manuvering herself so that her foot slid softly between his legs, her boots stroking there lightly. It was entirely possible he'd fall over so she was pleased he hadn't picked up the grapes yet. Just like she had done when he'd had a room of people sing happy birthday Ruby was going to torture him in her own unique way into letting her down. And then he was going to feed her that grape, and she still wouldn't have admitted to being tiny.

"I'll tell you one thing, You really exceeded every single expectation I had of that moment you know. I can only imagine how nervous you were" Conversation of course continued as if nothing was different, as if she wasn't doing what she was doing to him. And if he moved her so her leg was no longer at that height she was claiming a victory. If he was going to marry her he'd have to learn that she pretty much would always get to win.

"So Mr Winchester, are we actually going to have this celebration wine and the snack?" she continued unable to hide the wide smirk that had found its way to her lips. "Or do we have to keep this...up all day" she teased.

Smugly, Sam reached for the bowl of grapes and popped one into his mouth. He was halfway through chewing it down when, seemingly out of nowhere, he felt a sudden pressure between his legs. Sam choked on the grape, hand latching onto the edge of the counter to keep himself from toppling over in shock. Dirty move. Oh, God, that was a dirty move. The continued stroking from the tip of her boot made it difficult for Sam to do much else than release a hitched breath, his grip on the demon at his shoulder loosening immensely. He didn't let her go. Not yet. Ruby was doing this on purpose. She was trying to outsmart him, to turn his victory into his own. All things considered, Sam wasn't going to let her win. She was going to be his wife. Sam was pretty sure that there was a rule in the marriage handbook that declared that one couldn't allow their wives to win battles like these. Others, sure, when it came down to the small stuff, like decorations and things, but this?

Sam could feel himself getting hard. Jaw tightening in frustration, he reached for the sink and flipped the water on, quickly splashing the cold liquid onto his face. Not helping. Right. Crap. "No...no, you're staying up there until you admit that I'm right and you're wrong." Sam attempted to turn on the spot, nearly falling over from how difficult the process was turning out to be with Ruby's foot stroking at him like that.

Reverse psychology. New tactic, seeing as the whole moving thing wasn't working out too well.

"You're only giving me what I want," Sam said, voice strained. "I like it when you touch me that way, it's -" Actually kinda painful. Not in the sense that she was hurting him, but in the sense that it was so light, so slow, and so big a tease that Sam didn't think he'd be able to fully get off on something as simple, yet complex as all that if he tried. Ruby probably knew it, too. "- admit that you're tiny," Sam told her, doing all he could from dropping her right there on the spot. "Otherwise you're just gonna have to stay there forever, and...and..." No, no, no. Sam couldn't deal with her touching him like this forever.

Ruby was going to win, she really was. There was no question in her mind. He could keep her up on his shoulder only so long as it took him to fling her down somewhere and relieve all that frustration she was building up in him. She had briefly worried when he'd choked on the grape but he was fine now, and she was still winning, all the reverse psychology in the world wasn't going to help him in any way. "I'm giving what you want? I'm glad. That's definitely a good thing isn't it. You deserve to be given what you want. So, If you like it baby, if you really like it. Then I shouldn't stop should I?" she said entirely pleased with herself and knowing there was only so long he could hold out.

She kept up the slow and steady movement of her foot knowing it was working. She was getting exactly what she wanted.

"Truth is, I'm not tiny, you're just a giant, and unless you admit that...well" She was pretty sure she didn't need to say anymore. This was easy. It was the start of her winning all the time and she really did like to win. Of course so did Sam so here was the stalemate. Who would give in first? She was convinced it would be him, what could he do to compare to the torture she was inflicting on him right now.

"You know I'm gonna win Sam, its just how it is. And I still want a grape" she told him smirking impishly.

Sam groaned, the strokes that Ruby left with him only intensifying the feelings that Sam had hitching within himself tenfold. She was cheating. Ruby was using his weaknesses to her advantage, she was - oh. Okay. Sam could do that too. But first, he needed to get a grip on himself. Screwing his eyes shut, Sam bit down on his lip and forced an image of his old college professor into his head. Wiry old woman, white hair, huge wart on her chin...

Sam turned to the kitchen table, grabbed Ruby with both arms, and set her upon it easily. He took a few steps backward, if only to steady himself. Ruby wasn't going to win this. She often did, especially when sex was dragged into the picture, but not this time. Pushing a hand through his hair, Sam shot Ruby a triumphant sort of smile. Resistance. He'd managed it, even though he still sort of felt all tingly and achey where Ruby had been teasing him before. College professor. He had to keep her in mind.

"You still want a grape, you said?" Sam walked over to the sink, picked up the bowl, and strode back over to the refridgerator. He lifted the bowl up and set it on top of the fridge, pushing it just toward the middle so that it wasn't hanging off the edge. Sam gestured toward it and flashed Ruby a wide grin. "There it is. This refrigerator was probably built for the average sized person. As such, you should be able to pull that bowl of grapes down no problem." Sam shrugged, hands sliding into his pockets. "That is, if you're not, as you claim, tiny."

Ruby was entirely smug as Sam set her down on the table. It obviously meant she had won this. Sam really had to get used to the idea that she won in every situation. That was how life was going to be from now on, she thought smugly watching him, kicking her legs off the edge of the table waiting for Sam to admit she was right. Though she didn't expect what he did next. Putting the bowl of grapes on the top of the fridge. It was a clever plan. Mean of course, if it had been anyone else he was taunting she thought she'd have been proud of him. But it was her.

She pouted. Not even attempting to hide her annoyance. That was something she hadn't expected and she couldn't reach the grapes. Being tiny and all. She couldn't have picked another tall blonde no? She had to follow what she knew Sam lusted after and go for the tiny brunettes. And now she was stuck liking the stupid body and not wanting to give it up. It was hers now. But it meant he was right. She had to admit he was right. Other options floated to her mind, pouting more so he'd get it down for her, actually doing the unthinkable and admitting defeat, or the one she settled on, using her powers to get the bowl, she knew she could be that precice. She lifted her hand using telekinisis to float the bowl to her before casting Sam a defiantly smug grin as she popped a grape into her mouth.

"Tastes like victory" she told him.

She was pretty sure he'd consider it cheating but she hadn't ever promised she wouldn't use downright dirty tactics to get what she wanted. He knew what he was getting into and she knew full well he loved her, dirty tactics and all. She held out the bowl, still smirking at him.

"Grape?"

Sam had been pretty damn smug himself, right up until the bowl of grapes soared right off the top of the fridge and into Ruby's outstretched hands. Almost instantly, an exasperated look spread across his face, causing Sam to do a very literal facepalm. "You cheated," he groaned, shaking his head in displeasure. But then, at the same time...

"You wouldn't have been able to get the bowl if you hadn't used your powers," Sam pointed out, pushing away from the fridge. He walked over to where she sat, dipping a hand into the bowl to retrieve a few grapes for himself. "Therefore, I was right. You're tiny. And now that you've gone and made with the obvious cheating, even you can't deny it." Sam gave Ruby a pat on the shoulder. "I win, Ruby. And yeah." He pushed a few of the grapes into his mouth and grinned. "It does taste like victory." Ruby couldn't out logic him on this one. He was confident of that. She may have had her powers, but she was still very tiny in that body. So unless she went off and possessed something taller - which she wasn't going to do, because (a) it'd be weird, (b) Sam liked her current body and was very much used to it, and (c) it'd be really friggin' weird. She was just gonna have to settle for being a tiny, pocket demon for the rest of her life.

"Nice try, though," Sam said, leaning against the table. "I'd give you credit for trying, but then, hey, you cheated." Sam looked over at her with a raise of his brows. "Cheater. You tiny, little cheater." If she wasn't going to admit to being tiny, Sam was just going to have to stick to calling her that for the rest of the night. Heck, he might well replace her name with the word tiny altogether. Yes, Tiny. What's that, Tiny, dear? Tiny. Sam got the feeling she wouldn't appreciate that all too much. It would only make sense that she stop the madness before it began.

They appeared to be locked in a neverending cycle of smug which she knew very well was dangerous. They'd one up each other over and over until one of them broke. And who knew how long that would be? "We have to stop don't we?" she asked him popping another grape into her mouth. They really were delicious, and she was still craving the wine he hadn't let her have yet. She hopped back up on the table where he'd first perched her and finally relented. "So...because I love you and you like to feel like you've won. Fine. I'm tiny. Your tiny little pocket demon fiancee." she said moving in closer to him eyes dancing with that same mischief even though she'd admitted defeat. It had been entirely to shut him up. She wasn't that tiny.

That and she supposed she had cheated with the telekinesis. It had been the quickest and easiest way she knew to getting the grapes. And it had seemed the best way to prove him wrong again. She was still altogether proud of it as a plan.

"Now that you have that out of your system" she queried looking up. Yes fine up at him. "What comes next?" She couldn't have imagined this a year ago. This weird, almost adorable cuteness they managed sometimes. She wouldn't have thought Sam capable of it back when all he was to her was a weapon. He had shown a heart that she hadn't expected and then he had given that heart to her. He'd showed her what love was supposed to be.

Even if sometimes he was a jerk.

"Also I probably should ask? How long do you intend to be smug about this? Should I just go to sleep for a few hours until it wears off? Days, Months maybe?" she teased, leaning right in close to him. Knowing Sam he would milk this. Every last bit of smugness he could get out of this, he would.

Aha! There it was! Admitting that he was right and she was wrong. Defeated. Ruby had been defeated by him. It really wasn't a competition. Sam was right - Ruby was tiny. Even by his gigantic standards, she was. If one were to stick her in a crowd, she'd be the first to vanish because of how unbelievably small she was. Sam proudly looked down at Ruby, the level of smug currently painted across his features all too quick to take reign over his entire mood. Tonight was a very good night, he decided. He was engaged, happy, and completely victorious. Now they could go right on back to celebrating, especially since they had even more to celebrate. Except for Ruby. She didn't have more to celebrate, seeing as she'd lost to his wit and brilliance. Yes, both of those things.

"Victory wine to go along with my victory grapes," Sam decided, shaking some of his dark hair out of his eyes. "Then, possibly, lots of victory sex. Which I think, as the losing party, you'll actually enjoy a lot." Sam leaned in, taking advantage of the way that Ruby was sitting so closely to him by pressing a cheerful kiss to her lips.

"Who said anything about me being smug?" Sam asked her, pulling back slightly. "I am completely unsmug. I can take my victory like a man. Honest." Sam put a hand to his heart and crossed it, as if that were a surefire guarantee. "I mean, it's not like you lost or anything. Badly. Because you're a cheater." Sam tried not to smile. He was mostly just giving her a hard time for the laughs.

...even if he did kind of enjoy the part where he was indeed feeling incredibly victorious.

It sounded good. It sounded really good, even if he'd be smug all the way through it. "What do I get as the loosing party?" she asked curiously, all the talk of victory sex in conjuction with her fun teasing had her just a little riled up. So much so that when he kissed her she couldn't resist running her hands along his sides and sliding up under his shirt. Just one of the layers of course but it was something. But first the wine and cheese and grapes. Victory of the most entertainingly fancy kind before he had his way with her.

"Oh unsmug?" she questioned, raising an eyebrow to highlight just how much she was not buying it. He was even being smug about being unsmug and that didn't even make any sense except that it was Sam and therefore it did. And he wasn't letting the cheater thing go.

"What did you expect me to do? You were teasing, so teasing back seemed only fair. And you have to admit you gave in to my teasing. You did put me down so from that perspective I won as well" Really she was just goading now, making it a hollow victory for him. Bratty thing to do really but she was enjoying herself far too much.

"So you won the battle of me being tiny and I got you to put me down. We could call that even if you wanted, my cheating notwithstanding. You're going to have to get used to that when you marry me. I like to win." she said insistantly, pulling him in for another kiss and this time wrapping her legs around him. He wasn't getting away so easy. Not this time

"You get me. A very pleased me, willing to do many, many things to please you. It's a circle of victory all around, really. I should always win." Sam flashed Ruby a grin, feeling far more confident in himself than he had in long while. It was because Ruby had said yes. She had agreed to be his forever and now, after all that worrying, Sam felt like nothing could ever go wrong.

Sam scoffed. "I put you down because my shoulder was starting to get sore. You're heavy." Not true. Sam probably could have carried Ruby around all night, considering her smallness. "Your teasing is weak, Ruby. Very weak." Again with the not true. He was the one who had been straining to maintain a standing position, let alone so much as move even in the slightest when Ruby had been going at him earlier. Sam couldn't help but deny it though; it was easier to pretend that he was right than admit to some sort of stalemate. Ruby was going steal his victory away! Sam liked his victory. It made him feel special.

"Ah, but haven't you already won? You get to marry me." Sam put his hands on her thighs as she wrapped her legs around him, giving them a bit of a squeeze. "You're a winner. Just not when you're competing against me. Never gonna happen." Sam kissed her back when she pulled him to her, content enough to spend the rest of his evening away doing just that. Kissing his future wife, joking around, being happy. Screw the apocalypse. Sam just wanted to stay here in their apartment forever and forget that the end of the world was insistently knocking at their door. They could do that, right? Right?

She could live with the idea of a very pleased him. Doing all sorts of things just to make her happy. Much as she figured he'd get his own back for all that teasing. Teasing he still refused to admit had had any great effect on him. Shoulder pain? Hah. She was pretty small, and the body suprisingly for the amount of greasy fries she put through it didn't have much weight on it. Had to be all of those strenuous workouts, she thought, happy to reminice about them as much as she could. But first she had to prove her point, they were back to the smug war apparently. Or at least they would be if he hadn't leaned fully into the kiss and let his hands squeeze at her thighs.

Ruby slid her hands from his shirt right down to the front of his pants before he could get his own way as far as temptation went. It was a matter of pride now. "...Your shoulder was sore huh? Feeling any twinges now?" she asked innocently, running her hand up and down, not even trying to move it inside his pants. He'd teased her before but never like she intended to do now. Though he'd come close so many times until she begged him to just take her. He always had too. But this time he'd admit she had tempted him and he'd put her down purly for that reason.

"We're both winners Sam" she told him between kisses and more teasing, slow and steady and hopefully just a little bit evil on her part. Revenge was best seved hot, she always said. "Long as we have each other, thats how it goes, and you really do have me. For as long as I live. But first you just have to suck it up and admit you put me down because you couldn't take it anymore."

She was enjoying this way too much, and the worst Sam could do was nothing she hadn't been through with him before. Essentially, she won. At least half of his victory anyway. He'd better break soon though, she wanted her wine and cheese.

Dammit. Sam should have known better than to not expect for Ruby to act out the second he started running his mouth about how she hadn't gotten under his skin in the slightest. It was one thing when they were competing about something normal, but when it came down to sexual temptation they both knew that Ruby always won. She knew how to get him riled up - she knew just where to touch him, how much to touch him, and she usually savored doing so during times like these, without a single doubt. Sam could recall spending time at an ice skating rink once, with Ruby pulling the same kinda crap with him there as he was now. Fortunately for him, they weren't in a public place at the moment. They were in their apartment, safely tucked away from prying eyes. That meant that if Ruby kept turning him on, he wouldn't have to worry about people gaping at him for not being able to control himself. Honestly, he'd felt like a useless teenager back then, one who hadn't known how to keep himself in check. Ruby did that to him, even now. Grown man and all and she still somehow managed to get at him in all the right ways.

It was incredibly unfair.

"R-Ruby," Sam said quickly, one hand sliding down to meet one of her wrists. He didn't still her though. Instead, through clenched teeth, Sam looked across at her and said, "You're unbelievable." He wasn't irritated, though. Just surprised. Definitely surprised.

Also, he was starting to get hard again. Another dammit.

"Okay, okay - look, you win, too, okay? You..." Sam breathed out sharply through his nose. "I call it a tie. We're at a draw. See? I couldn't take it anymore. I don't even think I can take it anymore now, so please, just..." Stopping would be good. Or maybe she could keep going, but more. Sam squeezed at her thigh again, head bowing just enough so that his forehead was resting on her shoulder. She was tiny, all right, but he'd be damned if she didn't know how to impact him in a big way.

She was pretty much amazing even if she did say so herself. She had won. Just like she'd thought she would and he'd given up his victory, or was at least sharing it with her. And he didn't seem to be doing well at all with the lightness of the teasing. "Please just what?" she asked innocently, keeping her hand working at that exact same terribly slow pace, light touches only much as she could feel him growing hard beneath the fabric below her hand. He squeezed at her thigh and leaned forward against her shoulder as she kept going. She'd keep going until he told her to stop.

"...You want me to stop, or do you want more. You're not being very clear at all right now Sam." she told him, an air of confusion masking her amusement with the whole thing. Masking it badly she might add, but of course she was allowed to do this kind of thing now. Privalage as wife to be. She was sure there was a law.

He'd tease her worse later. She knew that. So she figured why not get her fun in while she could.

"I like that it was a tie, its even isn't it. A healthy little partnership, thats what you and me have." she told him, all seriousness much as her calmness had to be driving him crazy. It was possible he'd snap eventually. She wondered about that. "Anyway, last I heard 'unbelieveable' was a good thing"

Oh, that was it. Sam couldn't take it anymore. Without warning, he grabbed Ruby by the waist and lifter her from the table, dragging her into his grip once more. Rather than throwing her over his shoulder this time, Sam carried her straight over to the living room, dropped her onto the couch, and climbed up on top of her wordlessly. "You know what I want, you tease," Sam growled, mouth immediately going for her neck. If she wasn't going to give it to him right away, that was fine. Sam knew other ways to get what he wanted himself. He didn't have to tease to get the job done, either. Sam could go for the direct approach, which usually had Ruby crumbling at his every touch. Hands going for Ruby's shirt, Sam slid his palms up underneath it's hem and smoothed his fingers over her soft skin. She'd pushed him enough. He had gotten turned on, twice, back to back. To think that he wouldn't react after that was insane.

"Now we're gonna do this my way," Sam said against her neck, one of his hands sliding down to grip at her hip. Like that was a surprise. They often did things his way. One of these days, he was really going to have to offer Ruby another chance at taking control. Once. Every six months or so. Maybe. Sam would think about it.

There was something different about being able to do this with his soon-to-be-wife. They'd had sex plenty of times before, sure, but now it was different. Now Ruby was going to be his wife, which meant that in a way, they truly did belong to each other. Not in the barbaric sort of mindset, in which a man had a wife and the wife just laid down and took it whenever the man wanted, but in a way that stated firmly that they were for each other and each other alone. People would see their rings and acknowledge that. People would understand that Sam was spoken for, without him having to utter a single word. Sam really couldn't help but kiss Ruby a little more eagerly at the thought.

Well she supposed she should have expected that, she thought as she was carried across the living room and dropped onto their couch. Teasing would only really lead to the one conclusion between them. And Sam was taking just what he wanted. "You like it when I tease" she told him, looking up into his eyes, his amazing eyes. She never wanted to see them clouded and dark like hers again. And sometimes she didn't know how she'd ever wanted that. No, she wanted Sam. All the fury, all the intensity and passion he brought to her life. And it would be hers forever. She'd be his wife.

Even that thought was a turn on.

Well, that and his hands running all over her body, up under her top, his shirt as it happened. She was already tempted just to beg him to take her but she was curious. His way could mean so many things with him on top of her. "What's your way today?" she asked, arching her back slightly to press herself against him further and let herself run her hand along his back, engagement ring a cool metal against the body heat between them. His kisses were as always pure electricity and she returned them with equal passion and intensity.

"You know I was only proving a point." she teased during a break from the kissing. "You can't resist me even if I am pocket sized. Is it so wrong I remind you of that now and again" she asked, lifting her legs to bend on either side of him.

"I like it better when you tease and give me what I want right after," Sam replied, kissing her neck firmly. He wanted to give her something for being such a painful tease - twice over. Sam bit down, careful not to dig his teeth in too deep out of fear that he might spill her blood. The last thing that he needed was to have his addiction get between them right now. When he felt that the spot he'd picked was right, Sam covered her skin with his lips instead and began to suck at it. A hickey wouldn't last as long as the ring on her finger - hell, Sam wasn't even sure if it'd last over the next hour with the way Ruby could heal up - but it was a definite territorial mark all the same. Once he felt satisfied that he'd effectively left a mark behind, Sam pulled back, examined the red circle on her neck, then grinned triumphantly. It took him less than a second to lean in and kiss it, his mouth already eager to explore the rest of her body now that he'd attended to business at her throat.

"I think I'm gonna leave a few marks on you," Sam said, brows rising a little. "Starting there," he said, speaking of the hickey he'd just left her. "And ending...well, we'll have to find out, won't we?"

Sam's hands slid up to the shirt - his shirt - that Ruby was wearing. He went for the top button, tearing at it carelessly. He didn't care if he popped the buttons off or if he ruined his shirt altogether; so long as he got to do what he wanted with Ruby, it wouldn't matter. The loss of a shirt he could pick up at any given thrift store to replace wasn't going to be any added weight to his shoulders, honestly.

Pulling it off her was easy enough. Sam threw it somewhere, pausing when Ruby spoke again. "It's not wrong," Sam told her darkly. The darkness that was coming out in him was her fault, sort of. He got this way with her sometimes. But the darkness mixed in nicely with the sweetness, something that Sam was also very eager to dish out at his lover. "And I like it when you try and prove your points to me. You do it well." Sam grinned. "Annoyingly." He ducked his head down again, moving to leave another hickey on her right shoulder.

Getting teritorial. Ruby wasn't going to complain about that one little bit. Not ever. She lay back, skin on fire as his teeth sank into it, as he marked her as his. There was no one else here, it would have healed up before anyone slse could see but all the same there it was. A mark, his mark to go with his ring. The engagement ring he'd given her. The shirt she'd stolen from him soon followed, reclaimed and flung somewhere across the roo. That didn't matter. All that mattered now was them. So everything he did tonight, every way they celebrated. It was an expression of love. And the way he was making her feel she wanted to express it over and over again.

"I tease well huh?" she asked. letting her hands roam wherever they wanted. She was allowed do that now, unless they were playing and he told her no. That was the only way she was stopping any time soon.

"You know I did never get my wine/" she teased, her words betraying what she really felt. She'd been pleased that he'd gotten the wine for her and they would drink it, it was just...airing. You did that with wine didn't you? Aired it. She wanted nothing more than whatever he wanted to happen between them. However he decided he wanted to touch her, mark her. The hickey on her shoulder stung beautifully, just a sensation, less pain than he'd inflicted on her in the name of lust in days past. But still there. He wouldn't be able to hurt her in the same ways now, but they'd find others. Of course they'd find others.

"I'm going to have to prove my points Sam or you'll never respect the fact that I always win. We can't have that now can we? I heard it said somewhere it was the wife's perogitive to be right whenever she felt like it." There was also of course the annoying fact that if Sam kept this up she'd be willing to agree to whatever he wanted and more besides. He knew her too well, that had to be it.

She loved that about him of course, but right now it was making him very aware just how in control he was. And he loved being in control.

"If you didn't so tease well, you would be sitting here drinking your wine," Sam said as if it were matter of fact. "This is your fault. I was completely content to let you have your drink, and..." Sam slipped his fingers underneath her shoulder, finding the clasp of her bra with ease. A layer she didn't need. They were engaged - there was probably something in the rulebook that stated that an engaged couple had to spend their first evening as an engaged couple entirely naked. It went with the celebration, even if they had kind of skipped the part where they actually did the traditional wine and snack thing. That didn't mean that they couldn't go back and do it afterward, but right now Ruby had Sam riled up beyond reason and he'd be damned if he had to sit around sipping at wine for the next hour. Not when he was feeling like this.

Sam flung her bra aside, immediately moving down to kiss her again. "You always win? Really?" Sam smirked lightly against her skin, finding a spot just on top of her right breast that he fully intended to leave another mark on. "I think you're wrong about that one." Sam sucked at her skin hard, distractedly pulling one of her legs up and around his waist as he did so. The wounds would probably heal by the time he finished with her, but Sam didn't care. Looking back, even for a second, to find that he had managed to make her his own was worth it.

Of course, now that they were engaged, all he had to do was look at her hand. The ring would be there. She was his.

"You can pretend that you've found your victory, but I'm the one getting my way right now, aren't I?" Sam pulled back, eyes dropping down to the new mark he'd left on her breast. Pleased, Sam decided to go for her left hip next.

Her fault. She supposed she could live with that, the wine would become a way to cool them down after, she thought as his fingers slipped behind her back to undo her bra. He went to work at her breast, leaving yet another mark, sending little shivers of delight all through her. He was amazing and he was hers. It didn't take much effort for him to pull her leg up and around his waist, all Ruby could do was like back letting herself feel every sensation, every bite, every movement of his mouth. She could lie here for hours just letting him do what he wanted, letting him show her exactly how much he loved her. Was this going to be married life, she thought looking down at the hand that was gripping the coffee table to steady herself, the hand wearing his ring.

"So...maybe you win" she told him as he pulled back, all she could do was turn her head to face him practicly begging him to continue, after meeting his gaze she stole a glance down over her body, the marks he'd left still there, they'd say for a minute or two more and then heal up just like her arm used to do. But for now, he'd marked her. He'd already found new ways to keep that side of their sex life going and she expected he'd have more up his sleeve.

"You should know I like when you get your way in the bedroom. Or, y'know, the couch. Or wherever." she told him. The anticipation of having him where he was, right on top of her. His decisions, his choices dictating what was going to happen next. And she couldn't help it, she had to push him just that little bit more "I suppose it shows that I get what I want even when you win" she teased.

That was a part of why they worked so well of course. She loved when he took charge, he was always so attentive to her, she had never failed to be fulfilled when he did. "You're just lucky I love you" she told him, pleased with herself
