winchester, sam. ([info]ex_demonbloo908) wrote in [info]wariscoming,
YES! That was it! Ruby was officially his fiancée. Sam had spent weeks worrying over whether or not she was gonna turn him down and now, after all that struggling, they were here. Engaged. Agreeing to marry one another - agreeing to spend the rest of their lives together. Apocalypse or no apocalypse, they were now and forevermore in this ride together and nothing and no one, his family and their demon issues be damned, was gonna change that. Before Sam could do more than grin like an overly excited kid, he felt the grip that he had on Ruby's hand reverse, his tiny, demon fiancée dragging him up to his feet effortlessly in one surprisingly quick move. Sam couldn't help but laugh as her arms went around him, his own free one immediately wrapping around her shoulders and pulling Ruby in as close as he could manage. It was a good thing she didn't need to breathe, too, because if one thought her strength was something, they wouldn't know what to say about Sam's own right now. He clung to her tightly, only letting go when Ruby pulled back to retrieve the ring he'd presented to her.

Right! She'd need that. Sam ducked his head again and carefully pulled the ring from the box. "Yes," he told her, voice filled with a warmth that Sam hadn't felt in a while. God, he needed this. They needed this. It was the right thing to do and it was the first thing in ages that he had felt one hundred percent sure on. Ruby was the love of his life. He couldn't be with anyone else. "We're getting married." Sam shot Ruby a shy, yet bright grin as he slid the ring onto her finger. He held her hand up, looking down at the ring now that it was where it belonged. "It looks perfect," he told her. That aside, Sam reached out and pushed some of her hair behind her ear. "You're perfect." Fingers sliding over Ruby's cheek, Sam cupped the side of her face with his palm and leaned down to kiss her.

"I love you," Sam said firmly against Ruby's lips. "I will always love you." He kept his forehead pinned to her own as he brought his other hand up to hold the other side of Ruby's face, large hands keeping Ruby close, but doing so in a gentle way that Sam rarely exhibited around other people nowadays. Ruby saw it the most, but that was because she was the only one capable of bringing it out in him. "Ruby...Winchester?" Sam chuckled a little, actually genuinely surprised at how foreign, yet...not terrible that sounded. He liked it. "I think that's usually part of the whole marriage gig. Unless you wanted to keep your last name. Or, uh, your complete and total lack of a last name?"
