Bonnie stared at Damon for a second, a look of confusion on her face before the wrinkles smoothed out at realization. "Just because you're playing nice so I can help you get home doesn't mean I trust you, Damon." He saw her as a ticket home, that was obvious, but she still wasn't used to him attempting to be nice. Damon and nice, as far as she was concerned, didn't belong in the same sentence. "But if we're going to try driving home, I rather know where you are instead of guessing."
Shifting away from him as he leaned over, she answered his question for Caroline's benefit rather than his.
"We haven't really spoken since the school carnival," Bonnie explained, looking down at her melting coffee. "After I tried to kill him," she said, jerking a thumb at Damon, "And the thing with Carter," here Bonnie was a little less accusatory, but still obviously upset with what Caroline had done, "Elena and I haven't spoken much. With Katherine around, everything's a little tense. But you should know that because for some reason I can't even begin to fathom, Elena's still talking to you," she said, this time directing a glare at Damon.
