Booth would never admit it out loud but he was a little jealous of Parker and Hardison showing up. Eliot was one of his closer friends despite the strange dynamic they had and now they were moving out. He knew they would still be in Kansas, but somehow he doubted he was going to see Eliot as much as he did living at the complex. So he agreed to meet with Parker. He was a little concerned about it in reality, but she was a friend. So what harm could coffee and a friend do? He was with Buffy still, he really hoped she wasn't one of those kinds of girls that would go batshit if he had other female friends. Somehow he didn't think she would be, but still it was awkward. The thought was in his head. What if she did go batshit? Then what? Would have to explain himself? He was never good at relationships.
See his ex wife. They had a kid and then she took off and stopped loving him. Or really didn't ever love him as much as he loved her. When he was with someone, that current partner got everything he had to offer. Every ounce of love and attention he could give without seeming creepy and over bearing. But with Buffy things were different, he was still in the 'getting to know her' phase after the mind fuckery they went through. After his last relationship with Bela worked out to the worst degree, he didn't want to get hurt again so he was taking things a little slower. Magical sex aside. He actually wanted to see if they had anything in common, or any chemistry at all, also he was hoping she'd get legal before anything major happened again.
He was an FBI Agent. She was underage. He didn't like bending the rules as far as age limits went. He waited for Parker in the lobby like he said he would, but he was a little distracted. His hand rubbed through his short dark hair as he waited by the door. He was dressed casually, jeans and dark shirt with some kind of white logo on it, but hey he wasn't on the clock after all. He didn't have to get all suited up. She wasn't expecting that, right?
