Who: Bella Swan When: May 27th, 2010 Where: Lawrence, Kansas: Henry's What: It's open mic night at Henry's and everyone's invited! Ratings: PG
Bella might have only started working at Henry's only the day before, but she was quickly becoming fond of the place. When she had been walking past the building on her job hunt, the place hadn't looked like much from the outside. But there had been a 'Help Wanted' sign and that had been enough to get her through the door.
When she had walked in that first time, she had been blown away. Walking in from off the street, she had been greeted to a packed coffee shop with a singer on a small stage to her right and a counter to her left where all these delicious smells were coming from. About fifteen minutes later, she had a job and was already being shown how to make lattes.
And that had been before she had been told that there was a bar upstairs.
She hadn't realized at first that Henry's was a coffee house and a bar, but she was well aware of the fact by that evening, as they set up the stage for open mic night in the coffee level. She had ventured upstairs once or twice to help out when things got busy, but tonight she was strictly sticking to the coffee house because people from her apartment complex were going to be there.
It meant she was slightly nervous, but she was excited. Bella still didn't know many people there, but she wanted to and the opportunity to do so had literally fallen into her hands when the manager had given her flyers to hand out.
She was serving a table near the stage their drinks, when the manager got up on the stage. "How's everyone doing tonight? Good, yeah? Well, I'm not going to take up much of your time by talking at you, but whoever parked in front of the fire hydrant outside? Needs to move their car, thanks. And without further ado, here's our first act for the night!"
