Jessica felt a rush of discomfort at the man's tone. He didn't seem to know who she was, but of course, everything Sam had told her said he didn't have a close relationship with his family, so that made sense, she guessed.
"Uh...I don't know the address, sir. I'm at...a little cafe. There's a gas station across the street. Carter's, I think this place is called. I really am sorry, sir. I just don't know who else to call."
She hoped that calling Sam's dad wasn't a mistake. He had never heard Sam speak kindly of him - she'd actually never heard Sam speak of him at all, really. And he'd always changed the subject when she'd tried to bring up his family. She hoped he hadn't been abused or something, and calling his father would just make it worse.
