The voice that Clark had picked up in passing either belonged to a crazy person or a new arrival. Clark was getting a lot better at detecting different sorts of people out after having been in Lawrence for so long. There was just something about them. Their posture, the uncertain look in their eyes, and - most importantly - the things that they said. Global television? Hardly something that people regularly discussed around here. Or ever. Clark didn't even know if that was supposed to be an actual TV station or not. Adding on the odd behavior that the speaker took on when addressed with a cellphone made Clark immediately wheel around, his fingers dipping into his pocket to withdraw his own cellular phone. "You can borrow mine," he offered, extending it to the strange man.
He'd either gratefully take it and make a quick call, thus verifying that Clark was incorrect in his assumption if the call followed through and he went about his business. That or he'd further Clark's theory on being a new arrival, what with him either not being able to reach a nonexistent number or with him being incapable of being able to figure out how to use a cellphone to begin with. Clark wasn't too worried about being wrong. If this was a mistake, at least he was bothering to stop in and check. The last thing that anyone wanted, himself especially, was for a new arrival to wander the city unattended. It was far too dangerous to leave the new arrivals alone. Clark didn't know if the demons still wanted them for their own personal reasons, but he wasn't willing to risk finding out the unpleasant way.
"I'm not in a rush," Clark added, shrugging. "It's no big deal if you want to make that call."
