“I could.” He shrugged. “But maybe some other time.”
Under other circumstances Damon might have felt compelled to prove his existence as a big, nasty monster. He had certainly done enough to prove it to the people back home. Now, though, he just felt like chilling out and enjoying himself.
“But you are from a book, I swear. Here, I’ll prove it.” Damon took a moment, apparently lost in thought for a second, and looked back up at Bella.
“Alright, your name is Bella Swan. Your mom and dad split and you felt like being with your dad for a while so you moved to Forks.” He nodded. “And I’m just getting warmed up!” He smirked.
“Also, you should scope out the internet. There are a lot of really bad short stories written about you and Edward. Or Jacob. A matter of personal taste, I guess.” He gave a shrug. “You want a drink?”
