“Nooo!” Damon laughed loudly. “A real vampire, not a sparkling one.” He corrected, jabbing a finger in Bella’s direction. “See?” He pulled his lips back just slightly to reveal his fangs, the veins beneath his eyes becoming more prominent and his eyes darkening just a shade. The awful face vanished in a moment and soon Damon looked like a normal person again.
“You’re from a book I read.” He smiled, speaking as if what he had to say was the most normal thing in the world. “I know all about you!” Damon looked almost proud as he said that, though his brother Stefan would never let him live down having read the Twilight series.
“As far as mean, killer vampires go, you’re pretty safe here.” He gave a sharp, decisive nod.
