"Oh, it's even crazier than that," Buffy said. "Before I came here, I was here before. At least an older me was. A me who was me but not me. She was older, and stronger," Buffy's face fell. "I keep thinking everyone expects me to be like her. This stronger leader type person - which I'm not."
She sighed and chewed on her apple, tossing it in the trash once she finished it. She hoped she didn't sound too angsty, that was the last thing she wanted right now.
"Uh, no. No it's fine, don't be sorry," Buffy offered Damon a smile. "I don't, not really. There was a someone, but it's complicated. Really complicated," she ran a hand through her hair.
"So, yeah. Dinner before the world ends. Something nice and normal, sounds great. No strings attached, promise."
