Buffy had spent most of the day alone, trying to get used to the complex - and the idea of being in it. And in Kansas. In two-thousand-and-ten. And a lot of other stuff. She felt like a broken record, but it was going to take a while. At least she had Xander here, even if he was older. Booth also seemed really nice, so did several of the people she had talked to on the boards or whatever they were called. The fact people relied on technology as much as they did here, was strange. Texting? Wikipedia? Facebook? Twitter? She could see it now, status update...Buffy Summers is slaying vampires in the graveyard again. Had people gotten that pathetic in the past decade?
She stopped while passing the kitchen, someone was in there and didn't look all that happy. A good-looking someone. (Just because she was new in town, and thoroughly confused, didn't mean she couldn't appreciate good looks, which this guy had.)
"What's not a happy face," Buffy observed stepping into the kitchen. "Someone eat all the Lucky Charms?"
