Okay, so he was drunk. And angsting over the fact his father was a jackass. But he had this ability to be ridiculously cute in spite of all that so she could overlook those things. And he was drunk yeah but not too drunk to be completely stupid, and she was ready if he tried to go for her blood. But it had been so long. Months without any real contact at all. And so Ruby dressed herself in the red leather dress he liked so much, the one that was barely modest, halfway up her thighs and down her cleavage and red boots to match. Her hair she let flow around her shoulders. There was no sense with a jacket. He was down the end of the street and if she looked like a whore well she looked like one, and it was only for him. He needed to be reminded just how loved he was, how whatever John said didn't matter at the end of the day. It didn't matter if John thought he was a bad person. It didn't matter if Mary kept defending him, none of it mattered. All that mattered was Sam. And Ruby getting to prove to him that she was there for him no matter what. That and give him a night to remember. That one went without saying she was pretty sure. She wondered sometimes if normal human girls thought like she did, if this was the way Jessica would have cheered him up. But then she didn't know any of the side of him Ruby knew, the Hunting, the darker tendencies he'd always had but never given in to. Until her.

He needed to keep that darkness, there was nothing wrong with it. It might have even been healthy. Ruby knew well the difference between dark and evil, and there was no point in pretending that darkness wasn't there. So she'd help him see he wasn't any kind of monster and that different wasn't bad. He was free of the blood. Had been for quite a while. He was doing so well. And so they could try. They'd see how tonight went. Maybe it would be the start of something good for them. Maybe some kind of normalcy. She replied to his messages as she walked, fully aware she was being watched by several passers by, it didn't take a genius to work out they thought she was sexy. It was fair, but she didn't stop, didn't slow down. Not until she saw him.

The message she sent was simple 'Turn around.' It was all she needed to say to the incredibly handsome boyfriend she'd been getting all hot and bothered for the last few minutes via the message board. She'd be impressed if they made it home. Suggesting the Impala again would be wrong wouldn't it? ...Would it?

It was a good thing that Ruby had decided to come out and find him. Sam might have been lurking above that beyond stupid line on the drunken scale, but he was still a drunk man covering the distance on foot from one place to the other on his own. He had fallen over a couple times, ended up with his head in a trash can once, and had spent a good five minutes lounging against the side of a random vehicle while texting Ruby on his phone. That, it seemed, was the one consistent thing that he actually had been able to manage on his way over. Texting. Not very well, but Ruby certainly had his full attention. He hadn't meant to come out this way; really, the plan had originally been for him to go out, grab a few drinks, then head back to the motel for the night. But he couldn't get his conversation with Dad out of his head. The world would have been better off without him. Sam was better off dead. Then thing took off from there. Sam switched up his usual beer for hard liquor, he found himself stumbling out into the streets, and now suddenly he was standing on some random corner with his cellphone in one hand, an open container of whiskey in the other, and the extremely appealing image of Ruby in leather bouncing around in his head.

Huh.

The phone in his hand buzzed. Sam looked down, squinting off to read the message that he'd received. Turn...around? Confused, Sam turned to the right, still clutching the phone in front of himself as though he weren't entirely sure if he'd read the message correctly. He had. The once vacant sidewalk brought Ruby to his side - not only that, but she was dressed in that little leather number that Sam had been so terribly fond of. That was the type of outfit that Sam would have expected to see her wearing around the bedroom. Not here, out in the streets where everyone could see. Typically, Sam would have been a little more than uncomfortable with Ruby dressing up like this in public. Right now? He was too damn drunk to care beyond the fact that the leather was hugging her body in all the right ways.

Speaking of hugging...

With a stumble and a sway, Sam dropped his phone and threw his arms around her. The whiskey in his hand slopped it's way up the neck of the bottle with the gesture, but it mostly splashed him on the wrist. Ruby was lucky enough to avoid having the outfit ruined by his over-eager behavior. "It's my Ruby," Sam mumbled into her hair as he gave her a squeeze. "And...and -" Sam hobbled back a little, head tilting to the side almost comically as he examined Ruby's attire. "- and you're all dressed up. Where we going? That's...it's not for the...thing?"

The hug was crazy and sloppy and he nearly toppled her over while he splashed himself with whiskey. She really had gotten here just in time. Poor Sam really very much needed to sober up. Maybe they'd go for coffee before she dragged him back to their apartment. Meanwhile though she relished the hug as he seemed to sort of speak into her hair before stepping back, or rather, stumbling back to look at her. She was more than a little entertained by how he did it. All dressed up, he said. Well sure she was. He liked the leather on her. Always had. And she'd worn it for him, dressed herself just like he liked. Accented each and every curve on this body she was so fond of it.

"I'm all dressed up for you. Like we talked about." she said simply taking the time to twirl around for him, slowly and with all the focus kept on him. "What thing do you mean?" she asked him offering him her arm if he wanted to walk. It was probably a good thing to get him walking back to the apartment where they could... Where they could what? She didn't know what was going to happen when they got back there. If anything. Maybe he'd just sleep, Maybe it would do him good. But either way she'd be there, because he needed someone right now. And it was her job to be that someone.

"You gonna come home with me? Its your home too you know." He hadn't been there for quite some time now, and Ruby missed him. Of course she knew it made sense. He couldn't be. He had to be so careful and he had to fight the addiction away from her because she carried the drug in her veins. Maybe he was finally there, finally strong enough to come back with her. He could even bring his whiskey. She was nice like that.

She'd get him back, they'd stop for coffee on the way and everything would be absolutely fine. At least until she'd settled him and could call John on being a jackass. And she'd do it too. No one talked to Sam like that and got away without learning just what a bad thing it was.

Sam happily watched Ruby turn on the spot, savoring every last inch of the display she was putting on. Her legs, her chest, the tight fit of the leather riding her skin. A low whistle erupted from a passing stranger, causing an unpleasant feeling to slip in among the warm and fuzzy that had been carrying Sam along up until now. Almost like someone had flipped a switch, Sam snapped a cold glare in the strangers direction and took Ruby's offered arm. That was the thing about being in public with her dressed like this. People were bound to notice. The view was nice, but Sam really didn't want to be beating men (and women?) off with a stick. Not that he didn't trust Ruby to stick with him, but people were crazy. "You look -" Sam swayed a little. "- you're really attractive. To me." Sam ducked his head. Words. He really knew how to use them. "Right now, especially." He'd be the first one to give Ruby credit later. She really did know how to distract a guy from his problems.

Home. She wanted him to come home with her. A hopeful look lit his features up and Sam immediately nodded. He hadn't been there in a while. He missed their apartment. Being in bed with her, sharing the same kitchen, the same everything. Sam missed that. He missed her. "Yeah! I wanna go with you. I wanted to go with you before, too, but I couldn't." Sam frowned. Then he offered her his whiskey. "Hold this. I gotta...I gotta go get..." He turned a little, pulled his arm away from her own, and fell on a knee. Seeing as he was going for the phone that he had dropped on the ground earlier, Sam felt that the falling thing was okay. Even if his knee kinda hurt. Sam grabbed the phone and slowly began to stand upright again. "I need my phone," Sam explained, clumsily shoving it into his pocket. He had a month or so before the company would get on his ass about a phone bill. Sam didn't want to throw it away just yet.

"Are we...which way is home right now?" Sam stopped once he was on his feet again. Her outfit. He couldn't stop staring. "I like it when you dress up for me," he told her, sending a faint smile her way. "You're the best, Ruby. The best."

He still didn't like people noticing just how attractive she was, especially dressed like this. Still got all cold and angry and glared at anyone that looked her way like that. And she probably shouldn't have liked it when he got like that. Ruby knew there was probably something that said she shouldn't encourage it, but she took his arm sliding it down her hip for a moment before she linked arms with him. That was of course before he remembered his phone. See, not completely wasted, there was phone remembering. Though the drop onto his knee didn't look pleasent at all. Hopefully he hadn't really hurt himself. But no, he could stand, and walk (more or less) and ramble about how much he wanted to come home to her. The good kind of rambling.

Having retrived the phone he seemed ready to go. To come home with her and damn if she hadn't missed that. Not even the reasons for the dress but just having him there. The simple things. Movies, cooking, well, him cooking. Her mostly being cooked for. She tried sometimes. He even ate it just so someone would eat her food. "I know you couldn't before, and thats okay because if you can now. If we can do this now, until tomorrow and you're still fine then we can take it one day at a time. See if you can't move back in. We could try being a proper normal couple for a while. See how we like it. Wouldn't that be a good idea?" It was definitely an idea Ruby liked and approved of.

"Home is this way Sam" she said amused, beginning to walk a particular direction. One that would bring them home fairly quickly if he didn't get distracted by anything shiny. luckily it seemed he was mostly distracted by her though so that was fine. "Yup, thats me, the very best. And when we get home you can show me why you think that if you like." She'd let him go as far with her as he liked, whatever that meant. But she'd be careful. They had to still be so careful. Normal it seemed was still mostly for other people.

Still, she'd accepted that fact a long time ago. This was who they were. And it suited them.

He walked slower and more clumsily than usual, but Sam was managing. With Ruby there, it was a lot easier. He had her to hang onto and show him which way to go; he'd been doing all right by himself (for a drunk person, that was), but her assistance made the trip a lot less complicated. Plus, there was less falling and bumping into things. Sam especially appreciated that part. Blinking a little, Sam squinted off at the path ahead. "I - yeah. Yeah." He looked to Ruby and nodded enthusiastically. A wince was quick to follow. Quick movements combined with dizziness did not equate to a pleasant feeling in his head. He tightened his grip on her arm a little and swayed, steadying himself soon after. "'Cause I miss you. Did you know that? I miss you a lot. Like...kinda like how I bet the sun misses the moon. They never get to see each other and it's so sad. Doesn't that make you sad? It makes me sad." Sam frowned. What was he talking about, exactly? Again with the huh.

She was going to let him show her? Sam looked to the side, his attention falling to her cleavage. Oh, yeah. He wanted to show her. In lots of ways. But first..."How d'you get in that? It's all leathery and tight." Sam flashed her a grin. "It's a good thing you don't need to breathe, huh? I don't think that's made for breathing people." It looked good on her. But, seriously, how did she put it on? Sam tilted his head to the side even more, leaning in to examine the outfit even more closely. It was tight. Really, really tight. Maybe there was a machine that came with it, specifically designed to pull the leather apart while Ruby climbed into it. Then it'd just...snap shut. Like rubber. "You have a machine," Sam decided with a laugh. "A big machine. And it holds it for you, right? It just..." He put a hand out and pretended that he was pulling something open. "Holds it. And let's you climb in. Just like that!"

He was possibly the most entertaining drunk ever. She had thought about it a few times but he really was, the things he managed to come out with when tipsily walking home arm in arm with her. She'd just get him inside, she thought, her night of passion growing less and less likely as she realised her boyfriend could barely stand. Well, if it came to that, she'd waited months, she could wait for him to sleep off the alcohol. They were apparently the sun and the moon. She got the analogy alright but really. Sun and the Moon. He should do Broadway. "That's beautiful baby, really, and yeah of course I've missed you, its been strange, and lonely and the bed is always cold." But wait, the topic seemed to be making him sad. No, there shouldn't be sad. Ruby didn't like to see Sam sad, not now, not ever again. So it was, she found herself trying to change the subject when he did it for her.

There was a machine. A machine to fit her into the tight leather. Of course. It was logical. He was probably already working out a way to build one. It was offical then. She was in love with a drunken genius. Feeding him whiskey on occasion and setting him free to think of ideas like that was far too appealing a plan. It was probably a form of abuse. At the very least there would have to be some kind of drunken stand-up. She didn't want to shatter his illusions though, he liked his machine idea. And it had made him happy. "Only option is reverse engineering the dress. You'll have to strip me down and see just how I fit into it won't you. For science. They continued walking a little ways, Ruby still more amused than anything else now that he wasn't sad anymore and almost completely focused on the impressiveness of her ability to wear skintight leather. Coma Girl had good curves. Ruby had spotted that right away, and Sam's tastes seemed to have changed since the loss of Jessica. Darker, curvier women. Smaller too. Just like her. She knew she'd made herself his perfect woman, but she hoped she'd become that in other ways too. Ways that didn't just involve the body she inhabited. Of course right now she was pretty much involving the body all by herself.

They'd reached the steps leading to the door to their building finally and Ruby pulled Sam into a tight embrace letting his hands explore her and the leather he so liked to see her in just as much as he wanted. "You don't have a choice you know, you'll never know how I fit in if you don't experiment" she insisted using her vantage point higher up on the steps to kiss him at equal height. It was a rare oppertunity after all.

Reverse engineering? Even when Ruby was talking about stripping leather off her body, that side of himself that got all interested in how things worked was able to get distracted from it. Ruby would need the machine to squeeze out of that thing too, wouldn't she? But what if the machine only worked in one way - to get her dressed into the outfit, but not out? If not for him being there to take that leather off of her, she'd be stuck. Horrifically stuck in that tight leather and no one would ever be able to save her. "You don't wear that when I'm not around, do you?" Sam asked her, suddenly very concerned. "What if I'm not there to undress you, Ruby? What'll happen to you? What if the leather won't come off?" He looked down at the ground, eyes going wide. "It'd be a disaster! Sheer leathery madness!"

Sam found himself being steered off to the apartment building before he could further contemplate the insanity of the situation. She was right. He'd never be able to figure out the mysteries of Ruby's leather if he didn't mess around with it. The leather was so tiny and...heh. She was hugging him. Now he was all close to it and, with the leather, came Ruby's body. Which was soft and warm and very pleasant to be close with. Sam clumsily put his arms around her, the bottle in his hand nearly slipping from his fingers as he did so. His free hand wandered aimlessly, groping out against the leather and taking handfuls of whatever he could reach without knocking them both over in the process. It felt good to be touching her again. Another thing he had missed.

Then she kissed him. It was a good kiss, too, because Sam didn't even have to crane his neck down to her height. She was right there; a weird angle for someone who was used to leaning down, but a pleasant one nonetheless. It also had the added bonus of being less likely to send him sprawling flat on his ass. Sam grinned eagerly against her mouth, kissing her back somewhat sloppily. What? He was drunk. It didn't matter though, because this was the first time that they had kissed in ages and, to him, it was perfect. "I like you a lot," Sam breathed against her mouth. "Did...did you know? 'Cause I do. I like you. So much that I can use the word love when I talk about you. It's nice. You're nice." Sam drew in a deep breath. "You smell nice too. Not like me. I smell like...like -" Sam swayed again. He put an arm out and found the railing for the steps, then shook the bottle of whiskey at Ruby. "This. It's not very sexy, is it?" He frowned. "Sorry. I'll smell better for you next time." Sam took another swig from the bottle. He was going on and on about how the smell of alcohol wasn't sexy in the slightest, but making it worse by drinking more. He was definitely something special, this one. "Can I kiss you again?"

Sheer leathery madness. Oh yeah, he was a keeper this one. She loved how insistantly worried he seemed to be getting that she was endangering herself with the leather but he was forgetting one thing. "I don't wear this unless I plan for you to be the one to take it off me. And, well we don't have to take it off right away now do we. We have time to play around with it" she told him hoping to make him realise that sheer leathery madness might not be such a bad thing. "It's just for you Sam so I'm pretty sure I won't get stuck in here." Perching on the step Ruby let herself fall into the kisses and the feel of his hands on her. It had been so long since he'd even touched her like this and it made every inch of her body crave more.

Drunk or not, whiskey or not, she had missed this. "I like you too Sam. A whole lot, some might even go so far as to say love completely. And while its true you've smelled nicer you look good, you feel good and its been so long since you've gotten to touch me that this is already..." she trailed off pulling him back into another kiss, using the advantage of equal height while she had it.

Now she just needed to coax him inside, his hands were still trailing her body, touching and grabbing where he could and she didn't much want that to stop so she tried her best to move with him still attached, she was strong yes but he was a pretty immovable giant object when he wanted to be. "The leather experiment probably should be inside, Not that it bothers me too much but there are public decency laws which I'd break within the first ten seconds of the experiment so we should take it indoors. What do you think?" she asked him, meeting his hands as they trailed along her ass. "It'll be perfect inside, whiskey and all" Ruby finally disentangled herself much as it pained her to do so and took his hand. "Otherwise, I'm pretty much going to beg you to do me here and that'd bring up those laws I mentioned"

Inside. Okay, Sam could do that. He didn't really want to wait because that would mean prolonging the experiment and depriving himself of what lay underneath all that leather that much longer, but he could do that. Nodding, Sam fought off another stumble as Ruby took his hand and began to lead him into the building. There was no way that they were going to be able to master the staircase with him stumbling all over the place, but Sam leaned in that direction anyway. Which was actually kind of a stupid move, seeing as there was an elevator in the middle of the hall. "I don't wanna arrest you," Sam finally said, thinking back to the law breaking. "I mean...I mean - I don't want you to be arrested. I can arrest you, okay? I do it and it's the good kinda arresting. The police don't like demons so..." Sam looked at her and frowned. "They can't have you." Sam pulled his hand away from her and pointed directly at Ruby. "I will kick them good." Then he lost his balance again and fell into the wall. If there was any ass that he was going to be kicking tonight, it was his own.

"Ow," Sam laughed, pushing back up to his feet. "I shouldn't do that." His eyes found Ruby again. And the leather. That tight fitting leather that hugged Ruby's perfect body. Sam wanted to be in their apartment now. He wanted to strip her right out of those clothes - stupid machine be damned - and he wanted to do to her what he had been dreaming of ever since he'd moved off on his own for his demon blood recovery...whatever. Sam tried for his bottle again, taking down another sip. Ugh. Whiskey. Ugh. "This is the most disgusting thing I've ever tasted," Sam admitted. "I have...why do I drink it? It's so stupid. I'm so stupid." Sam laughed again, then offered Ruby the bottle. "For your birthday." Sam attempted to straighten up. He was (surprisingly) mostly successful. "Let's go, pretty."

Inside the door was a good start but, ...wait why was he going for the stairs. That was a silly plan. Ruby lead him back from the stairs toward the elevator as he talked about arresting her. "Well you have an FBI badge and we both know I've been a very bad girl but that's for another night when you can walk straight okay" she told him laughing. The police didn't like demons, well she was pretty sure she had caused a little bit of that herself what with pointing Lilith at a few of them a few years back to teach Sam a lesson, though that was not the thing to bring up around him when he was this drunk. She'd keep it light, happy, and then she was pretty sure he'd pass out and she'd change into something more comfortable. Something actually more comfortable. She supposed it was rare that sentance actually was meant litirally but then she and Sam so rarely just did normal. There were always layers.

"You'll kick them good" she repeated, eyes widening as he toppled toward the wall before she could grab him back. She made sure he was okay, finally pushing the button for the elevator as he got too his feet. Stupid elevator, they'd had fun in that too, she was pretty sure she wasn't getting any tonight though so she probably shouldn't think about it so much. Stupid boyfriend making everything sexy by his very presence. "You drink whiskey cause it gets you drunk quicker than anything else even though that particular brand tastes like pig swill" she explained patiently watching the elevator numbers tick down to 1. "You're not stupid. I'm just going to have to look into getting you a better brand. An Irish or Scottish one. There was this awesome kind me and Cas got when I stole your credit card that time"

Had she told him that? She had. She totally had. Eh, it was unlikely he'd remember this and if he did she'd add it to the whole 'she'd been bad' plan she was working on for the following night. "Happy Birthday to me" she told him taking the pig swill whiskey as the elevator doors opened and found she had to practicly pull him inside. The fact he'd straightened up had helped. The tallness did not help. "Come on Sam...lets get up to our apartment... They were the third floor apartment. It was a nice place and they'd made it theirs. Even if she was currently pretty sure he'd vomit on it.

Sam let Ruby do most of the guiding. She was probably better at it right now since it seemed that the whiskey had made him forget the little, important stuff - like how to get back to their own apartment. He just made sure to focus on keeping himself from toppling her over in the process. It wasn't easy when all he wanted to do was lean on her fully, but Sam knew better than to do that. Poor Ruby might have been strong, but he was still pretty big compared to her. That was a lot of Sam to be supporting. "Okie-dokey," Sam agreed, nodding unevenly. "I like that idea. I can be FBI agent Mul -" No, wait. That was the red-headed woman. "- Scully and you can be...a supernatural creature I'm coming to rescue from other supernatural creatures. But you're bad, see, so I gotta make you understand that the other supernatural creatures aren't gonna stop till' you let me take care of 'em. But you gotta be good for me first. So..." So he had a really weird X-Files fantasy. That usually didn't happen when he was sober. "Is that a good one? Do you like it, Ruby? I like it."

It was probably a good thing that Ruby had the whiskey now. With the way he was going on about things, he probably would have ended up sipping at it again. It wouldn't have much helped the whole sobering up process. Then again, he was already due a bitch of a hangover in the morning. What was a little more to cap off the party? "Huh?" Sam squinted off at Ruby as she spoke of credit cards. "You took my cards?" He swayed again. The elevator doors ticked open and Sam leaned forward. Fortunately for him, Ruby was quick to lead him inside. "S'okay. You can have my cards. Wanna know why?" Sam poked her in the shoulder. "'Cause you're my Ruby." Sam laughed at that. "Just don't get caught. And don't spend it all in one place." Sam leaned back against the wall as the elevator doors slid shut. One hand immediately slipped into his pocket, dragging the wallet out again and into his grip. It took him a good moment to get the wallet open (he had been trying to open it upside down), but after a good couple of attempts he pulled out a handful of fake credit cards and thrust them at Ruby. "For next time," he insisted, looking thoroughly genuine. This being drunk thing was not healthy for his whole decision making process, was it?

Ruby didn't get the TV refrence, Mulder, Scully any of it. But it was along the usual lines, she'd be bad, he'd make her be good. Make her beg him to change her. Ironic really that they played that like a game when it was what he was doing. Making her good. well, good in theory. She probably shouldn't have accepted the cards from Sam in his drunken state. People would consider that taking advantage. But he was offering. And she could do with some of those cards. For next time, like he'd said. And if it turned out he couldn't remember this conversation the next day then, really reminding him would be cruel. He'd feel bad, and she couldn't have that. So taking the cards was helping him. Or something. Yeah, there was logic. And she was his Ruby after all, he'd poked her in the shoulder and told her so after all. She liked being his Ruby. The cards slipped into her pocket as she thought a little while about his fantasy, she'd be bad and he'd make her good. All the irony of their situation aside. It could be fun.

"I like it" she told him as the elevator finally reached their floor. "But aren't I always good for you." she said, keeping her arm wrapped around his waist as the door opened to the corridor leading to their apartment. She took a moment to locate her keys, hoping Sam could focus on standing up long enough for her to open the door. Crazy as all this was, it felt good having him home. It felt right. More so than anything had in quite a while. He was here with her again. Home. And if he wanted she'd play the bad girl, all dressed up like she was. If he didn't fall asleep. Which was entirely entirely possible.

"Want a coffee?" she asked looking back into the corridor to her adoreably drunk boyfriend. He'd need to do the walking thing so she could close the door behind them.

He felt immensely satisfied when Ruby pocketed his cards. There, he was taking care of his girl. Demon. Girl demon. Grateful for the arm around his waist, Sam stumbled his way to the door to their apartment and leaned back against the wall when Ruby dug around for her keys. It was sorta funny, being back in this hall. He hadn't been in a while. Sam let his head slump back quietly, eyes closing as he drew in a deep breath and attempted to stabilize himself a little. It wasn't easy. Everything was dizzy, his stomach felt weird, and the taste of alcohol in his mouth really wasn't too pleasant. What had Ruby called it? Pig swill? Sam wrinkled his nose and cracked an eye open. Ruby had found her keys. Good, he thought, clumsily pushing from the wall. He nearly walked right into the wall opposite him; it was only the sudden turn that he took to look at Ruby when she spoke that kept him from doing so. He did stumble again though -- his shoulder hit the wall again in the process, but it wasn't as painful as it had been when he'd fallen to the wall back on the ground floor. Sheepishly, Sam nodded.

"Okay," he said. "Coffee. It's...good. I need good coffee." Sam put a hand to his head. "Just...just don't cook it, okay? You're a terrible cook." Sam hobbled forward, put a hand against the frame of the door, and attempted to focus once more as he peered into the apartment.

Home. This was definitely home. A little, tiny smile found him at that. He had missed being here. Particularly while in the company of his demon girl. "Uh, chair." Sam tried stepping forward. He successfully managed to cover a little bit of ground, but not before he put an arm around Ruby's shoulders and held onto her for a bit of balance. "I would like a chair, please. We - you didn't sell our chairs, did you?" Sam tilted his head a little, pausing to give Ruby a once-over. "Hey, hi." He grinned. "How're you?"

Was he really mocking her cooking now? If she was a meaner girlfriend she'd make him sorry for that one. But there was also that it was true. Not her fault, she was pretty sure she'd only ever mixed potions or poisons. Not food. Coffee she sort of understood though. She thought she made okay coffee. "Oh terrible huh? Maybe I shouldn't make the coffee, maybe you should go without coffee. Might be the only way" she teased back watching him as he got inside the apartment and looked around seemingly happy. He was back, he was home. With her. And much as it was going to be hard, and probably he still wanted her blood. It was a step. It was something they could work on. They had a spare room he could stay in for a while until the potion really took hold and did its work freeing him from the cravings for her blood. He'd get there. They'd both get there.

If she got past being amused at drunk-him that was. "Yeah..." she said with a sigh. "I sold 'em, all the chairs. I figured why do we need chairs, they're really just a waste so I gave them all to a bunch of kids who said something about bonfires and burning. It seemed like the best idea at the time." She knew he'd get all worried and flaily even if there were chairs in both the dining room and living room, comfy chairs. The chairs he remembered helping her buy. "Hi" she replied wondering did he even remember about coffee or chairs. "I'm good thanks, all the better for having you back here" she told him.

"Now, Go lie down on the bed and I'll bring you coffee. Bed's clearly better than a chair" she told him. She figured he needed mostly to sleep off the drunkenness. Then he could have coffee and some kind of hangover cure. Because boy would there ever be a hangover. "Doesn't that sound like a good idea, you've missed our bed haven't you. Come lie down Sam" she insisted, taking his hand again to lead him toward the bedroom. Pity the leather wouldn't get its use. But there was always the morning. She could be the hangover cure. If he could actually function for most of tomorrow.

She might see about Epiphany and the hangover cure again. It had worked the last time.

"Maybe you can give me hot chocolate," Sam decided with a nod. "Hot chocolate is good. I like the marshmallows." Sam chuckled. "They're funny. You're funny. Hey, hey, hey." He grabbed her by the shoulder and leaned in close, brow furrowing thoughtfully. "You look funny. Like a sad, clown hooker. But a...sexy one. Like...like the kind I'd wanna have sex with, y'know? And maybe not so sad either, 'cause...'cause you're not sad, right? I don't like it when you're sad. It makes me sad. I'm 'sposed to make you happy, right? 'Cause I'ma marry you and be your husband. And that's what good husbands do." Sam pointed at her. "Good wives? They make good husbands hot chocolate with marshmallows. And then...you're not a clown either! I don't like clowns. They have stupid noses and stupid, stupid, stupid smiles. Who smiles that much? Who NEEDS to smile that much?" Sam swayed again, this time using the arm he had around Ruby to keep himself from losing it entirely. Whoa. Slow down. He needed to slow down. Too much talking, not enough thinking. "You can be my not-sad, not-clown hooker, okay? No clowns. Ronald McDonald can go to Hell."

Sam didn't like thinking about Ronald McDonald. He tried to focus on something more pleasant instead.

"Are we gonna have sex?" Sam asked her, letting Ruby lead him to their bedroom. "I wanna have sex. In the bed." Sam squeezed her hand, moving through their bedroom door in a clumsy manner until they reached the bed in question. He quickly dropped down on the edge of it, the room spinning wildly with the gesture. Sam blinked a few times, trying to clear his head. Everything was so...weird.

"I don't need my feet anymore," he said, looking up at Ruby decisively. Slowly, Sam reached down and tried to grab his shoe. "It's no good."

She did sometimes wonder if those crazies that read Chuck's books would still want him if they could see him right now. Drunk and barely even able to stand, it was a testement to how he had changed her life that she still did. Even now, even with the non-sad non-clown, hooker comments. She couldn't really fault him, she had completely dressed like a hooker. That was the entire point after all, that was what he'd insinuated he wanted. And as he sad down on the bed with him Ruby wished that sex was on the agenda. Amid the clown rant he'd said some amazing things about wanting to marry her and what husbands did, and Sam mentioning that word at all made her happy in a way she wasn't sure she knew how to describe in any real way.

All she could do for now was lie down on the bed with him, helping him with his shoes before she did, she was sort of convinced his head would hit the pillow and he'd go to sleep. It was possible, but she'd decided to lay down with him anyway. Curl herself into him and just relax with him for a while. Occasional kisses, his hand wandering where it might, that was fine with her. Tonight he'd sleep content and safe with her. Like he should have for a long time before the blood tore them apart. Her free hand stroked at his hair, loving how it felt just to be there with him.

"We can do whatever you want Sam, but how about for a little while we just lie like this, we can talk, we can fool around, we can sleep. Whatever you want to do. That's what good husbands and wives have between them isn't it. That's where we'll get someday. And there'll be no clowns." she added with a smirk. She'd make him hot chocolate in a few minutes,. But for now, she was happier where she was.

"I like your feet anyway. They help with the tallness"

It was nice that Ruby was helping him with his shoes. For some reason, they were tied really tight and he couldn't just pull them off his feet on his own. Or, okay, to him they were tied really tight. They were actually done up pretty average, considering. "You're a saint," Sam said slowly as she tugged them off his feet. "A saint of a demon. That's...ha." He looked up and grinned. "Kinda funny. I have a demonic saint in the room. Or a saintly demon." He chuckled, shaking his head enthusiastically. Whoa. Again with the head shaking. Not good for the dizzy factor. Sam put a hand to the side of his head, only bothering to lean back against the mattress after Ruby had crawled onto it herself. He was laying in bed with Ruby! Even drunk, Sam couldn't help but get excited. This was a big accomplishment for him. He was addicted to her blood, he wasn't supposed to be around her. But here they were. Completely unsupervised, together in bed, and perfectly fine. He didn't know if it'd go so well if he were sober (which didn't really matter to him right now anyway, since he didn't particularly care), but for now...

Sam shifted, head finding his pillow. He'd missed his pillow. And his Ruby. Sam reached out and placed a hand on her cheek, looking across at Ruby from where he lay. He smiled at her lazily when she moved in close. Touching. They were doing that, too. Fuck the addiction, they were fine. Sam leaned into the feel of her body curled against his, contentedly savoring the sudden shock of warm that her body brought to his own. Sam's thumb dragged across her cheek slowly, another lazy smile quick to follow. "I love you," he breathed, the smell of alcohol still heavy on his breath. "Wasn't 'sposed to tell you 'bout Dad, but I love you. It's why I did. 'Cause you make me feel..." Sam leaned in closer, forehead lightly bumping against her own. "You make me feel good. Not just with the sex either. But the sex is good. I like that." Sam was a lot more chatty when he was drunk than sober. All these weird thoughts and feelings came out. Most of it silly and random, but some true. The kind of things that he kept deep down, rarely ever openly expressing. That's where he was right now. Still drunk, but a little more calm than before. He was tired. Sam didn't want to sleep though. He just wanted to lay here with Ruby because she really did make him feel good.

Drunk him was very complimentary when not calling her a hooker. She'd let him fall asleep just there like they were and then she'd change into something more comfortable, get him some headache pills ready for the unpleasent morning he'd face then climb back into bed with him. Just the two of them, lying together just for the night like they used to. And it would feel amazing because she'd missed out on so many nights just like this. Not all of them would involve her being clad in leather of course. That one was an extra addition. He was kind of rambly still, she'd gotten used to deciphering it but saintly demon had been a new one even for him. She was pretty sure that wasn't what he meant, or maybe it was.

The talk about love though, she knew that was meant, every word of it. "I know why you told me, and its okay, it goes no further than us, you know that. That's what love is." She turned back to him, still just curling herself into him until he drifted off. They could leave the silly random stuff until the next time he was drunk. Just not on whiskey. She might just have to ban whiskey for a little while, much as she liked him when he got all cute and chatty with her. The chattiness was definitely something special. She really did have to record him one night, she threatened it and threatened it and never did.

"Just relax for now, okay baby? Just relax."

"'Kay," Sam mumbled, shifting heavily against the bed. His arm flopped around her waist, fingers smoothing over the leather that she'd worn. Just for him. Sam didn't care what anyone said, demon or not, Ruby was one hell of a girl for going out of her way like that. There was a good chance that she hadn't actually expected Sam to be able to make love to her tonight, yet she put it on anyway to make him happy. That was the kind of woman he had and it made Sam proud to be laying in bed beside her. "Thanks," he said tiredly. "You're..." He pulled her closer to him, savoring the feel of her body warm against his own. "You're my favorite -- my favorite demon." She also happened to be the only demon he could ever love. Ruby was special in her own way and, even when he was stupid drunk, Sam found he could appreciate that.

Sam buried his face against her, drawing in deep breaths. He was tired. And Ruby thought they should have been resting. Sam wanted to have sex with her, but if she insisted on relaxing first...Sam closed his eyes, convincing himself that he would soon be able to have his way with Ruby. Just as soon as they got some relaxation in. His mind grew fuzzier than it already was and Sam almost instantly began to drift off. It was easy to, when everything was all dizzy and his mind was functioning more slowly than usual. Still, Sam found he could concentrate on one thing -- he tightened his grip around Ruby and smiled softly. He hadn't intended to end up here tonight, but in his drunken state Sam did exactly what he had wanted to for months now. And, damn it all, it felt good. He was home. They were home.

It didn't take long. Between the effects of the alcohol, his emotional exhaustion, and the comfort that the bed and Ruby provided him, Sam quickly fell asleep with Ruby in his arms.
