"I don't think she is," Simon's voice was followed by his actual form, emerging from behind Karl's old shed. He gave Kaylee a small smile, a polite reflex bred into him over a lifetime, when a lady enters you acknowledge her presence politely but his heart obviously wasn't it, he probably hadn't even noticed the corners of his mouth lifting. "I've been looking, I just hoped, we had an argument and I was hoping she was just angry with me. But if she won't come out for you she probably isn't here after all." This was practically babbling for Simon, though his tone and movements were still controlled it was obvious how worried he was. He rubbed his temples and crossed towards Kaylee.
"I'm afraid she might have gone to look for Solo after all," he added, finally admitting the possibility he hadn't wanted to acknowledge. "And if she has, and he hasn't replied to me, then he can't have good intentions...but maybe she's somewhere else, the kitchen or one of the common areas, maybe she is just angry with me." He pulled out his PDA for what felt like the millionth time, checking for messages.
