Mary Winchester ([info]_takeasadsong) wrote in [info]wariscoming,
The uncertainty, the directionless anger, had ebbed further once Sam had begun speaking. The sound of her son's voice, the nervous hope apparent even without a view of his eyes, gave her something else to focus on so that by the time he'd finished speaking and Chuck had voiced his confusion the strange mood, the fog in her mind, had mostly cleared. "I think I..." she raised her hand to her temple again, "It is hard to believe but I know something isn't right here, something's...I don't feel right." She shook herself when Chuck said he hadn't had water since he'd been brought here, looked slightly aghast, because a demon could keep a host alive without food or water, could dull the sensations of pain, but if a human had been kept tied up like this for so long it would have been cruel and she'd just let them... "I'll get you something to drink, then we'll figure this out," she said, turned and crossed to the corner where a couple water bottles had been left.

>>"Mary...you really shouldn't be in here right now. Jo was very insistant that these two be kept alone down here."
Mary's hand jerked, as Roger's voice sounded behind her and she straightened up quickly, turning to face him, an apology already forming on her lips. She got in a quick, "I know, I'm sorry, I just-" and had started towards him with the intent of going to stand at his shoulder before her thoughts, newly freed from whatever had been dulling them, caught up with her intentions and she stopped, frowning. Why am I apologizing? I have as much right to decide what I'll do as someone Sam's age, definitely as much as a civilian even if he has been so helpful...why shouldn't I stay?

>>"Maybe you should go Mary. I'll get them back how they should be. Its better that way isn't it."

"No, I'm staying," Mary said still perfectly polite but her tone one of disagreement with an equal rather than complacency now. "Exorcisms don't work, we've tried that. Something's wrong here, I think we have to start considering that this might not be just a demon attack. That there might not be demons at all," she added, stepping over to stand between the prisoners and Roger.
