There was a wrecked cop car suspended halfway through a shop window up ahead. Sam took it that the impact had to have been somewhat recently, seeing as the light atop the vehicle was still quietly flashing red and blue. Some cop must have panicked and drove straight through the window. Either that or someone had stolen the vehicle and crashed it themselves. Whatever had happened, all Sam knew was that the cop car looked pretty abandoned now. That didn't stop him from wanting to check the store out in case the driver was still around. Raising his gun up a little, Sam carefully crept his way toward the building. Even though he was a big guy, Sam was pretty decent at stealthy approaches. He moved around to the side, finding a spot just to the right of the police car. There wasn't any blood to be seen. That meant that whoever had driven this car had survived. Dark hair falling into his eyes, Sam carefully peered in through the shattered window. The shop was empty. Whoever had been driving that police car was long gone now.
Releasing a frustrated sigh, Sam turned away from the scene...only to find that he wasn't the only person there. The face was familiar. Sam didn't blink twice. "Jo," he started, voice coming out somewhat uncertainly. She probably still thought that he was possessed, didn't she? Sam had to talk her down. "We need to talk. I'm not a demon." Sam held a hand out at his side, using the other to lower his gun downward so that it wasn't pointing at Jo in the slightest. He wanted to show her that he genuinely meant her no harm. "You need to listen to me, okay? There's something really wrong going on right now."
