Where: The church where Jo, Mary, Ash, and the civvies are holed up at; Chuck has been moved to the priest's apartment above.
Rating: TBD; probably PG13 at the min
Notes: It's a little bare-bones at the moment, mostly because I'm not totally sure who's going to tag in and I didn't want to take any liberties with other people's characters. :-)

Her head throbbed with a dull pain, a headache that had begun that morning and would not go away. It probably came from her trying to not think about all her friends out there that were being ridden around by demons. It was rough for her to deal with, after having been somewhat beaten by a demon in the past, and then killed by that same demon just a short time ago. Instead, she tried to keep herself busy, working on plans and thinking about supplies. Talking to Ash had helped, a little, and so had Mary, but at the moment...Jo stood in the living room of the priest's apartment above the church. She had discovered the apartment while trying to find a place to safely move the demon possessing Chuck to - which had seemed a lot easier than she had thought it would be. He was in the bedroom, the door cracked so that she could hear if he attempted to escape. Not that he could - she had him gagged and tied to an office chair, surrounded by a devil's trap and a circle of salt. There was no way he could get out of that. She hoped.

Heading over to the window, Jo sank onto a chair she'd put there and adjusted her gun as she checked the surrounding area. Things were getting bad out there - she could see overturned cars and the remnants of fires as close as a block away. This really was war, and she was caught in the middle of it. When a floorboard creaked behind her, the blond Hunter tensed, her finger twitching near the trigger of her shot gun, but then shifting away as she glanced over her shoulder to see who it was that had come in. Recognizing it as someone she trusted, she straightened from where she sat, gun lowering.

"Hey."

"Just me," Mary said softly, raising her hands slightly as she came up the stairs. She smiled at the younger woman, or did her best to anyway, trying to look reassuring rather any of the handful of less pleasant emotions that would have come more naturally. Not that it seemed Jo needed it, she was a good hunter, Mary had seen enough to be able to tell, and physically probably not much younger than Mary herself. It still didn't sit right with Mary seeing young people, her sons, forced into this life but it was beyond her understanding how someone could choose it, fight to be included in it like Jo had. It didn't make her respect the young woman less, just inspired a sort of puzzled sadness.

"The civilians are mostly calm. One of them, Tess, has actually started taking charge a bit. Now that this is all sinking in hopefully more of them will step up," she said, coming close enough to look out of the window as well, though she regretted it when she saw the scene outside. All I ever wanted was to get away from all this... but now wasn't the time and she shook her head quickly. "How's Chuck doing?" she thought of asking again if Jo was sure they shouldn't be listening to Castiel but those conversations seemed to go nowhere fast. I should just leave, find Sam and Dean, find out for myself...

Cissie had done some survaliance before making her move inside. While she'd changed out of her costume - the costume itself being shoved into the compartment at the bottom of the red quiver she held on her back. She's put her hair up, and having climbed around the roof of the church, doing her rounds she got a bit of info about who was where before finding an open window and trying to slip inside without too much attention being drawn to herself. She didn't think that that would be possible, and she closed the window behind her.

She was in a corridor and she could hear voices, and decided that it was probaby a good idea to follow them, let it lead her where it was. In truth Cissie was hoping to find Jo. It had been BAD out there. She'd wound up having to tie up several people and knock out a few to keep them from rioting. The problem was that you didn't want to hurt them. But the exorcism rite that she'd learned hadn't worked! Neither had the holy water. She didn't know what the hell was REALLY going on!

There was a lot of stuff going on that Ash was pretty sure wouldn’t make sense until he got good and drunk and thought about it for a while, or until he got himself a computer that worked properly and did some checking into things... or some combination thereof. He’d missed a couple years’ worth of events, after all. In Heaven, he hadn’t been completely unaware of things, but he hadn’t been able to see much of what was going on, either. But he couldn’t really do much about that.

He couldn’t do much about the fact that there was a demon in here, either. Jo had said exorcisms weren’t working, had moved the demon to another room earlier and Ash wasn’t entirely sure what to think, because that hadn’t exactly seemed like a demon. He’d looked the part, sure, had the black eyes, but he had seemed kind of desperate and scared, not the usual bitchy uppity demons Ash had encountered. Either way, Ash wasn’t very comfortable with having a demon (if he even was one) within the same walls that he was in - last time that had happened, he’d ended up extra-crispy and drinking beers in Heaven.

Not that Heaven wasn’t awesome or anything, but he wasn’t ready to go back just yet.

The sound of someone’s footfalls in the hall made him turn, head that way. He didn’t really have a clear idea of what he was supposed to be doing, here - he was out of his element. There was no research to do, no patterns to figure out or plans to make. He was just... here. And he was glad for it, sure, but that didn’t mean he knew what to do with himself, now.

When in doubt, find the boss-lady wasn’t the usual plan (because usually when in doubt, he got trashed and sprawled around waiting for inspiration to hit, the right numbers for the code he was working on to pop into his head, the right plan to form), but it was probably better, in this situation. He was pretty sure Jo would be pissed if he cracked open the sacramental wine or something.

Jo was in the hall, and he offered a wave that was half a casual salute as he approached, “What’s with the.... thingie?” he waved his hands to indicate the quiver on her back, because seriously, what the hell? Sure, a lot of hunters liked bows, crossbows, all that jazz, and it could be useful on occasion, but he didn’t think demon invasion (or illusion of demon invasion, if Sam were to be believed) counted as one of those occasions. ...And why wasn’t her wrist wrapped up, or swollen, discolored? He frowned, confused for a second.

Shifter. Great. Perfect. Exactly what they needed right now, with a demon invasion going on, was a bunch of friggin’ shapeshifters on the loose. His frown turned into a glare, and he leveled the gun he’d borrowed from someone around here on her, “Nice try. Not good enough, though.”

The arrival of a man with... what Cissie could only describe it as weird hair. She'd only seen hair like that in comic books and in really bad VH1 retrospectives - the arrival of this man didn't surprise her so much as the fact that he waved to her. And started talking to her like he knew her. She wasn't certain whether to say hello back or pretend like she knew him, and it occurred to her that he was either curious or... maybe he'd never seen a quiver before?

She hesitated momentarily before spouting out the first reply that came to mind, "Just more weapons." She tried to sum up the individual, using skills she's picked up from Robin. Average height, but taller than her. Looked like he'd stepped out of the 1980s and whole that didn't necessarily mean a lot to her, but there was a possiblity that he could know what was going on. Just having arrived, she'd suspected that - since Jo was here with iothers and not out there helping that she must have known SOMETHING, right? Truth was that Cissie sort of looked up to Jo, though she'd never tell her that... maybe one day. But she'd found someone and when she went out that afternoon she'd known that her friend would be out there too.

She was about to ask her question when she saw the man's bodylanguage change slightly and he started pulling something out. Her hand instantly went to her quiver, her bow still in hand. It was a gun. And it was leveled at her. Something that Cissie nearly froze at. She managed not to, and just glared. She hadn't done anything to provoke this response, and his words didn't giver her any indication of why he'd just done this, but lookign for logic in a gun fight was never a good idea. Her fingertips were pressed between the nock and the fletching, waiting to be pulled out at a second's notice. Her eyes narowed. "I don't like guns," the words were said through gritted teeth.

Ever since her psychiatrist had been murdered by her fiance and she'd gone rogue for a time, while they dealt with guns every day instances like this were just other reminders of why she'd given up the costume in the first place... and the people outside the reason she'd taken it back. "I'm going to give you one chance to put that away." She left it hanging there. She wouldn't hurt him anywhere lethal. The places that did the most pain but caused the least amount of damage, those were the keys.
