Who: Jacen Solo and OTA What: Demons and hero worship! Where: A street near the complex When: Mid Morning Rating: TBD Status: In Progress
Things had started to be strange as Jacen crossed the street toward the apartments, balancing a coffee in one hand and hitting the button for the pedestrian lights with the other. He'd spotted a demon, a very blatant, very obvious black eyed demon just driving past in a dark blue car. And before he could even react to the absurdity of that, a demon dressed quite trashily reached the other side of the street. Was this something directed at him? Was he being followed? He sighed, that would get decidedly annoying, and he had coffee. Demons would pay for hurting his coffee. All the Dark Side is wrong comments could be ignored once his coffee was safe. He looked across to the woman who honestly didn't seem to have reacted to him. Which Jacen had to admit to finding strange. Not that he was famous here or anything but he was pretty sure the demons knew him by now.
"If you make me spill my coffee. I'm going to have to fry you" he said simply, and was about to place the drink down when a young boy of about seven grabbed his arm, eyes red with tears but wide as he saw the lightsaber hanging on Jacen's belt. He'd run looking for a hero and found a Sith Lord. Jacen supposed it was an ironic side effect of the fictional status of his family.
"You have to help me! My Mom, she's not Mom. Her eyes, they're all black and horrible and she's a monster! I locked my door and climbed out my window and I ran and ran and you're a JEDI. You help right..."
Jacen could have walked away, he probably should have. He didn't have to care about the child with the demon mother. He should just cross the street and shatter his belief in the heroes of the galaxy coming to rescue him from everything. The Jedi, even in his world where they were real were no heroes. They were just as self involved as they'd claimed he was. But the boy...the boy was scared. Jacen could feel it just by his proximity to him. And the deciding factor. He was Allana's age. He was just a child and no matter the world, children shouldn't have to be afraid like this.
"...Alright I'll help." he said finally, he'd have to avoid the lightsaber. If the kid really did have Jedi Hero Worship, the Sith Weapon might give the game away. The kid for his part was pleased now, scared still, but assured that now everything would be fine.
"What's your name?" he asked and Jacen paused...Not Solo...that was too obvious and the kid might know Jacen Solo, it might scare him off. "...Ganner" he said finally, mind returning to the Jedi who had always wanted to be famous until he'd realised he didn't need to be famous to be a hero. He'd faced off so many of the Yuuzhun Vong just to give Jacen a chance to turn the tide of the war. Ganner could be a hero once more. "My names Ganner" he said and let the kid lead him toward the house as Jacen brought to mind the exorcism he'd need.
