Sam/Ruby - Holy water!
Water suddenly erupted from the ceiling above, causing the demons that surrounded him to scream out in horror as the substance sprayed across their flesh. Smoke began to litter the air, mixing in with the screams of horror and shouts of exorcisms spread all across the room. Dropping his arm to his side, Sam glanced down at the body that he'd just pulled a demon from. Another down. Good.
He was on the verge of moving for another flailing demon before a thought struck him. It was raining holy water. Every demon inside of this building was being drenched with it. Which meant -
His eyes turned toward where he had last seen Ruby. The sight of the holy water falling upon her, burning at the demon that was within the body she wore brought on a feeling in his chest that he'd never quite had before from seeing something like that play out. Usually it was a sick pleasure. Now it was fear; fear that Ruby would get hurt, that she wouldn't be able to take the stinging water that rained down onto her. He didn't like it, seeing her react the same way that all of those other demons did. She was better than that. She was better than them. Dropping his flask of holy water, Sam bolted across the room, blinking some of the water from his eyes as it beat down onto him and everyone else in the room. Shoving screaming demons and allies alike aside, Sam fought his way through the crowd and made his way to Ruby as quickly as possible. The second he was within arms length of her, Sam wrapped his arms around Ruby's shoulders and desperately sought out somewhere he could shove her away until the sprinklers gave out. A wave of frustration struck him when Sam realized that most everything was either overturned, destroyed, or too far away. He'd have to do something else. Fast. "I've got you. Hang on."
Arms around her, Sam pressed Ruby into the wall behind them, covering her smaller body with his own. "Get behind me as best as you can," Sam told her quickly, keeping close. He had to protect her. Keep her from getting hurt. There was too much holy water coming down on them and Sam, in that moment, couldn't help but find himself cursing his brother for it rather than applaud him. A sensible tactic, surely, but one that pissed him off all the same. No one hurt Ruby. No one.
