"Pushing each other in the dirt and pulling each other's hair," he added dryly. They'd joked about chaperoning earlier, but the way that Sam and Ruby were regarding each other, it wasn't too far off. He only knew a few details about the situation but enough to understand why they wanted someone there. The way the two were regarding each other know, they did seem like awkward teenagers.
Once Jo had taken his arm, he headed towards the table, following the path around the tables that Ruby had taken. It was a nice place, and the food was smelling pretty damn good. Sam hadn't done a half bad job choosing the place to go.
When Jo moved away, Eliot let go of her arm and crossed his over his chest. "Hey," he said by way of greeting, nodding to Sam. "Thanks for the dinner." He waited as Jo said something to him - he could guess at what - and then followed her towards their table, leaving Sam and Ruby to their reunion. His luck over the years hadn't completely killed off his appreciation for the romantic and while he wasn't sure about the human/demon thing, he hoped the night went well for them.
As they reached the table, he pulled out the chair Jo had been heading for.
