"Not as nice as you do, Harvelle," he said, grinning. For all the grumbling she'd done over having to find one in the first place, she'd done good. Better than. It had taken him a moment to recognize her outside of her usual. "Red is your color." As they walked towards the entrance, Eliot shifted the tie around his neck and knotted it. If they weren't destroying the dress later on, he'd offer up that damn thing. "You ladies are dressed to impress tonight."
The smile grew a little wider. "I'd have to have something to laugh at first." As they reached the doors, Eliot pulled one open and stepped aside to let Ruby and Jo in first, then followed the two women in. He feigned interest in a menu as Ruby looked back, in case they needed to have a moment, but soon she was moving off towards Sam.
"You're welcome. Thanks for the invite." He'd been surprised at the invite, but a nice dinner out with her hadn't seemed like a bad idea. Even if they were babysitting. He tilted his head towards Sam and Ruby. "They grow up so fast, don't they?" he said, offering his arm to her. "Shall we?"
