He was being approached. Sam didn't like being approached by strangers. It made him somewhat uncomfortable. But when he turned in his chair and looked at the approaching party, Sam realized that it was the girl with the blue hair and vaguely familiar face. He grinned and waved at her a little, swaying slightly in his seat. "Yep! Sam. I'm Sam. I am Sam." Sam reached across for his beer. "And you!" He pointed at her with his free hand. "Have blue hair. Why do you have blue hair? What is it so blue for?" Sam leaned to the side, squinting up at it in pure curiosity. Maybe she just thought it was cool. Maybe she was born that way. Who knew? "I know you. From somewhere." Sam took a drink, swallowed, and then added, "On a hunt, maybe? College?" As soon as the sentence came out of his mouth, Sam blinked and slapped a hand to his forehead. It probably looked insane on the outside perspective, but to him the gesture made perfect sense. Admitting to an old college buddy that he was a hunter was not a good way to start up a conversation.
But then again, neither was laughing at her and her blue hair. It was definitely possible that Sam should have gone a little easier on the drinking.
He leaned back against the bar and finished his drink. It didn't take long for Sam to wave off for another beer. He could stand a few more. The night would end on a less sour note. The hangover, of course, would be a bitch in the morning. But he'd deal with it and get back on track. Back to the business of figuring out their Lucifer problem and back to curing himself of the demon blood. Fucking demon blood. Sam could taste it now. He licked at his lips thoughtfully, immediately reaching for the bottle of beer the second it came into his reach.
