Sam didn't exactly understand what she was getting at. Clearly, the whole 'my Lilith' thing was a figure of speech. There was no way in hell a watch could ever amount up to the horrors that Lilith had inflicted upon himself and the rest of those who came into contact with her. Yet here they were, Martha looking as serious as ever about something that definitely must have happened in the world that she was from. Sam rubbed at his neck quietly, then leaned forward on his bed to look at Martha carefully. "Doesn't seem all that likely around here. A watch. But then again, I didn't think that killing off a demon would be the cause of Lucifer rising either. Guess you get screwed over in all kinds of unexpected ways, huh?" He didn't try to smile. There was no point when he felt so lousy and all seemed to be at the beginning of the end. "Sounds even more likely that you didn't know that a watch could possibly end the world." But it wasn't the same as Sam raising Lucifer out. It wasn't. Right?
"What happened?" He didn't mean to press, but Sam was genuinely curious. A watch ending the world. It was certainly something that he thought he'd hear about in a movie or book rather than in real life. Still, he could say the same for a lot of things that had happened here over the past year. The world was filled with all kinds of crazy now that it was open to so many other universes. "I mean, you don't have to tell me about it. Not if you don't want to." It sounded interesting. Not only that, but it would be a great temporary distraction to all of this crap he was feeling on the inside. And, judging from the way that Martha was going about all this, it would also be a way for Sam to see inside that head of hers. It was obviously something that she had gone through and, as her friend, Sam wanted to know about it.
