It was running through her head, blocked out by moments of distraction. But it was so new, so fresh in her mind... And being forced to talk to Dick about it... God she wished he hadn't found out. Where he'd found out was another question. One that she wasn't certain she wanted the answer to... not now. Nothing she'd done had worked, and while Dick had said he was coming over, that had been some time ago. If she left, he'd know where to go. It wasn't as if she were going to leave the complex. Not in the state she was in. Not now.
And this Barbara had found herself on the roof. The elevator had been fully installed weeks ago. And while it was cool out it felt good against her skin. She had a jacket but right now it wasn't welcome, even though she had it on. So much going on. So much to take in. She missed it. All the time. The wind in your hair. It had been one of the few ways she actually had been able to calm herself down. The adreniline rush that came with swinging from the rooftops. Now she directed others. And then she'd died. One thing she had promised herself was not to go into the darkness, she couldn't stop, just had to keep going because if she did badthings could happen.
She didn't even see Dick there. Just looking out over the Lawrence sky line... or what counted as it. It wasn't Gotham. But for now? It was all they had.
