Ruby understood in theory. She'd never waited around to think about the violent spirits, or anything that might have gone with the lives she played fast and loose with when she'd taken their bodies to do such evil with. The families of those girls. Their lives, their deeds. None of it was fair and she was learning that from Sam. He was teaching her what she needed to know to be better, and being around her own kind again Ruby could see how far she had come. But he was right, he couldn't leave her, neither of them could. Ruby thought back to what the body might have contained. "Check the coat I guess, I think she had a wallet. I didn't really think about that kind of stuff, maybe they took it off her. I don't know." That done and Sam now holding her close Ruby could only focus on him. On making him feel better, as much as she could anyway. He needed to feel better. He didn't deserve any of this.
"We're gonna come through this. You know that right? Whatever it takes, whatever we have to do. You and me are stronger than any of this." She could tell just how worried he was, how much the last few days had shaken him, loosing her without knowing it, freeing Lucifer, finding her again. His voice was shaky, his grip on her tight, as if he was scared to loose her again. He loved her and she didn't need any proof of that. He always would, that look in his eyes, the gratitude... he shouldn't have to offer her that. She was the one that was grateful. "I love you Sam. You know that don't you. And I'll be here whatever you need", she stayed close, kissing him on occasion. Holding him. Just being what he needed.
