It wasn't difficult to figure out that the demon tucked away inside of the body before him was very much Ruby. The way the darkness within embraced his touch rather than doing the polar opposite was answer enough. Plus, the general feel of it all. Sam knew Ruby. He knew exactly what it was like when they were together. He had found her - albeit a mess - and he was going to get her the hell out of here before that one lucky demon who had managed to escape decided to bring a few friends back. "The girl -" Sam swallowed hard, mind instantly zipping back to the woman he had killed only hours before. A sharp pang of guilt poured through his chest, in which Sam immediately forced his gaze away from Ruby's own. He was ashamed of himself. "It'd probably be for the best. No sense in dragging her through the suffering any longer." Sam squeezed at Ruby carefully, not wanting to damage her any further than she already had been, before he dropped down and focused on getting rid of every object that had kept her in place before he had gotten here. She was free now. Ruby was always free with him.
"Make sure you know who her family is. We'll make a call to the police on the way outta here." That was probably the least that they could have done for her. Sam looked up from his crouched position as he finished tearing through the last bit of the bind she was in. He placed a hand on her knee and turned his attention to the door, expression darkening with anger. "She's in the trunk. If it weren't for your body, she'd be dead by now." Sam turned his focus back on Ruby. He tried for a faint smile, but it didn't pan out. Sam was still reeling; from the murder he had committed, Meg's tricks and games, Lucifer rising, and now seeing Ruby like this. It was too much. "You can always count on me. Told you I'd take care of you." Sam squeezed her knee. "Can you walk?" He'd carry if she couldn't. They both knew that he would, no questions asked. Hopefully once they ditched the body Ruby would be in better physical shape, but Sam didn't really know for certain. Did the damage they put on her get down to the demon on the inside? They must have used something special to screw around with her; those demons would've known that the traditional torture methods didn't work the same way on their own kind, right? Sam frowned. He didn't exactly want to stand around thinking about which ways those sons of bitches had gone about torturing Ruby. He had almost killed them all. Ruby would appreciate the spectacle made of their bodies on the way out, he was sure.
