Who: Vi and Jacen
Where: The address he gave her
When: After the comm post
What: Something's not quite right
Rating: TBD
Status: Incomplete

It didn't take a prophetic dream to tell her something was off. There was an uneasy feeling in the bottom of her stomach as she shut the lid on the laptop and rose from her seat. Jacen asking for help, Jaina's implications. Yeah, something was definitely wrong and if she could help set it right, she'd help him out. Nevermind the suddenly complicated...nevermind. She pulled her hair back into a ponytail, pulled on her sneakers and coat, and started loading up with weapons. Two knives, a bottle of holy water, her cell phone. She ran over their positions in her mind, fingers brushing to make sure she knew where they were if it came down to a fight.

With a Jedi. She was halfway across the parking lot before she thought about checking Wikipedia, but wasn't sure if there had been any time. The less lightning flying around downtown Lawrence, the better. And she'd been training with Jacen. Hopefully confrontation just wasn't going to be necessary.

As Vi approached the address that he'd given her, the uneasy feeling in her stomach was only getting worse. She slipped one of the knives from its hiding place and into her coat sleeve, feeling a little more comfortable with it right at hand. Moving into the park, she glanced around, looking for Jacen.

She could only imagine what was going through the demon's mind, and if Jacen was aware of what was going on, what he was thinking. Maybe they were having a mental conversation in there. Vi's brow furrowed slightly. Maybe she should have asked about that. Fight for control, sure, but was there actual conversation? But she'd asked her question which, in all fairness, she intended to use the answer to later on. Middle names were a powerful card to play in verbal battles.

The corner of her mouth twitched after she asked the question, trying not to give away her amusement. "Yeah, that's pretty much it. I knew Jacen wouldn't tell me if he did, especially if it was something embarrassing, so I asked you. You did say you'd answer," she added pointedly. Her expression went from amused to cold again. "I'm not giving you anything to use. You've already had your fun." ...and that she hadn't meant to say, but quickly brushed it off, hoping he'd take it as fooling her into thinking he was Jacen, not a simple possessor.

Vi blinked twice in surprise and blew a few loose strands of hair away from her face. "That's it? Stay here until I can tie you up?" Hell. No. That was the most ridiculous request, though one of the politest she'd ever received from an enemy. She could give him that. Her nose wrinkled up, expression slightly perplexed, a moment before her left fist shot up, angling for a hit.

Oh now that was interesting. That was something, the way he'd said it. He couldn't quite put his finger on it but it was something to keep in mind. Something to poke about at later. He'd have to have a think. "He'd never have told you even if he did have one. And you see, I can answer properly can't I. Say the truth when you ask it. I can be nice can't I?" Frankly the demon thought he was being better than any demon would have been. She was alive and well and that was enough. Even if she wasn't being very cooprative. Which was very very annoying. He wasn't having his fun anymore. That he would have to fix. And then, then she punched him. Square in the jaw which was just more rudeness on her part. There was a lot of that. He'd have to fix that. He grabbed her hand before she could go for another punch and glared down at her.

"Vi, don't you get it yet. You're not going anywhere. And I was going to be nice about it. I was going to make it easy on you. I was even being polite. But you can't do that can you. You can't go quietly and you won't hurt me because I'm walking around in Jacen. Essentially honey. You're stuck."

It would be easier if she just accepted that, he thought as he pushed her arm behind her back and started looking around for something to tie it with. "Come on, just be good"

"You're right. How dare I think to question your ability to tell the truth? To not place my faith in you," she said dryly. It didn't change a single thing as far as she was concerned. Someone could tell the truth and twist it all around so that it was still true, but the biggest lie ever. Her knuckles connected but there wasn't as much oomph as she could have thrown behind the punch, reluctance and the odd positioning between his grip on her and her stance making it difficult. But he got the idea.

"I'm supposed to be bait. I'm not letting you use me for anything you have planned. Playing along so you go easy on me is not going to happen," she snapped. But hell, he was right. She could punch and kick but she had to be careful of how hard and where. No permanent damage, if she was lucky enough to score one of those blows. "Better to be stuck than to be compliant."

And that was when the struggle started in earnest. Her arm swung behind her back too easily, giving her an idea of just how strong this demon truly was. In a desperate move, she started trying to push back, away, wiggling if it helped get her loose and as much as she could in his invisible grasp.

The demon was getting more and more annoyed at the Slayer. Why couldn't he be Jacen. That bothered him. He pretty much could be Jacen, he had the body, he had the memories but he didn't think it at all did he. "I may not be Jacen but you have to know I'm the closest you're ever going to get. Because I didn't lie to you Vi. You're not her. And that might be harsh to some but its true. He'll never see anyone the way he sees her and no amount of kicking or punching and fighting is going to change that. Not to mention you're not going to hurt Jacen. You wouldn't because you're far too annoyingly heroic for that aren't you?"

When she began to struggle, the demon rolled his eyes and continued to push at her arm, she was being very unhelpful and eventually he'd have to do something about that. This was decidedly rude.

"Vi, don't struggle. If you struggle you're definitely not getting out of here. Truth is, you're part of my distraction. Get them all focused on the fact I have you, while Meg..." The demon trailed off covering his mouth shockingly. "...while things are put into motion" he amended watching to see if there was a reaction. He hoped there was, then he could explain the plan and all the fun of Lucifer rising. It would be amazing. And he was playing his part.

"Fine," Vi snapped, barely giving him time to finish his thought. "Fine, I get it. I'm substitute person but that doesn't mean I'm going to accept you as Jacen, because you're not. No matter how much you talk or offer to tell me the truth, which you probably would if it suited you, you're not him. You're the demon riding shotgun." Put that way, it did sting. Knowing that it was possible someone hung out with her just because she reminded them of someone else. "I'd rather be annoyingly heroic than just another minion of evil."

Struggling wasn't getting her anywhere. If anything, it was straining her shoulder in a way that could be problematic if she pushed the wrong way. With one last sharp shrug, she looked over her shoulder at him. "Should I know who Meg is?" she asked, her attention suddenly captured. It hadn't occurred to her that this was part of something bigger, but it made sense. Things had been way too quiet while they waited to hear if Lilith had broken any more seals, getting closer to -

"What?" she demanded. "Come on, I'm the distraction. Obviously expendable once you get what you want. What things in motion?" It was worth a shot.

Now how to describe Meg. Did he even want to? "She's...got a bit of history with those Winchester boys. But as for telling you, not just yet. You'll figure it out in time because we don't have long to wait now. Oh no no... And you'll have a prime seat. Best in the house" The demon had to admit he was highly amused with the concept of what was to come next. They'd line them all up, knock them down and Lucifer would be risen. And then he'd get to keep his Sith Lord, walk around with the power of a God and it'd be like that forever. It would be everything he had ever dreamed of. All those rewards. Everything, and him and his sister would do so well out of it. They were practicly the generals. They weren't bait like Vi had said. They were so much better than that. They were chosen to have that kind of power at their fingertips.

And Vi. Oh he'd figure out what to do with her then. Maybe she'd grow to realise he was a better Jacen than Jacen could ever be. "I'm not gonna tell you the plan. I've heard that didn't end well for Azazel, all the exposition thing. I'm not gonna do that. Instead I'm gonna let you sleep now, let you rest and believe me I am gonna tie you up. I don't much care if you're concious when you do it.

"Alright distraction. Time for sleep" he said pushing the choke hold just a little bit more, just enough to get her unconcious.

This was becoming one of those times where her misses far outranked her hits, like when she'd first started training with her Watcher and he'd started her on target practice with the crossbow. That poor rabbit never stood a chance. But unlike that time, this time was a matter of life and...well, death wasn't immediate but pain could have been. She needed to get back to the others, tell them what was going on. Something! Not sit here and debate the nature of possession with the Jacen wannabe demon.

"This is one event where I don't want the best seat but thanks for asking," she said, her scowl deepening as he breezed past her attempt to get a plan out of him. The bad guys always had to brag! Why wasn't he bragging? Her head whipped around, frustration momentarily forgotten when he mentioned sleep. "What? Slee-"

The rest of the word never made it as it grew harder to breathe. Vi leaned forward, trying to suck in a deep breath but it was a losing battle. Stars started to dance in her vision before it grew dimmer and dimmer. By the time she slumped to the pavement, she was out cold.
