Claudio had risen earlier than usual, surprisingly refreshed and self-assured. It was probably because Friday went so well. He was half expecting Brynna to tell him he'd messed up on Saturday, so when Sunday rolled around without a peep he happily went to the donut shop, bought a few and some coffee, and headed Brynna's way.
He was starting to get comfortable around the girl, which was both a good and scary thought. It normally took Claudio a while to warm up to people, but he honestly thought he could tell Brynna anything in confidence. Even the rough state of things in his own family before landing in Kansas. It was daunting that it happened so quick, but Claudio wasn't going to complain, not when it was Brynna.
"Something wrong?" He asked once he saw the other glance up. They were almost at the mall, and while it wasn't Claudio's favourite place in the world (Newo had dragged him frequently), he'd grab a smoothie and wait patiently until he was asked to hold her bags. Any time with Brynna was going to be great, regardless.
Besides, he could always drag Brynna to an art supply store when they were done. And when they were finished there, Claudio was determined to build up the courage to at least kiss her. He was an 18 year old male, it honestly shouldn't be as hard as it was.
