Compare to Gotham and Bludhaven, Kansas was pretty laid back. It was a decent size but still a bit less insane than Dick was used too. But despite all that his head was lost in the clouds. It didn't have the intimidating crime rate that his home towns had, it didn't have the Joker, or hell even Harvey Dent. But it had something worse. It had demons and angels, and Dick couldn't get his mind off it. He'd fought the apocalypse before, but several times over infact. But none of them had been biblical. This was a whole new playing field for him. He put on a good front of the strong leadership but on the inside he was floundering out of his element. It still wasn't nearly enough to give him second thoughts, or hell even doubts that demon finding was something they would have to do to prevent Lilith from breaking all the seals he still didn't understand. But it did leave him with a million and a half questions and incredibly restless.
It was obvious Dick hadn't been to bed that night. Still dressed in his shoes and civis. His hair still in good form, or at least decent from being swept through a wacky ass time warp into demon hell. Normally one had to wake up earlier than this to get the drop on Dick Grayson, but with his thoughts taking over even he showed a second of weakness and raised an eyebrow at the sound of Clark's voice suddenly near by.
"Here's hoping it lasts." He tried not to be all doom and gloom. "You know sunrise was always my favorite time. Promise of a new day." He didn't know why he was being so open with Clark. He wasn't Superman, Babs made sure to remind him about that every opportunity she got. Clark was even younger than he knew him so it should have been obvious. But even though he refused to wear a cape Clark would always be Clark wouldn't he? Another question. He was starting to feel a headache. Swiping a hand gently across his forehead as if trying to brush it away he offered a forced grin. "You sneaking up on me doesn't leave this rooftop you know."
