John had realized that things could very well get worse. The whole city, in fact the entire world, was all looking like one man. And given what news reports John had been reading, the United States very well had the Worst President Ever reward.. and he hadn't thought anyone could have topped a couple of them in the past. A quick flight around the world recently had revealed that it was true, every human was replaced by a clone. He was curious to what else went wrong. Knowing that the Master had access to deadly weapons on a global scale certainly didn't help. Who knew what the man was going to use all that power for or what he was planning? The world was already at risk enough right now with the Apocalypse that was nearing. And now there was this. There was so much more that could go wrong. Like the stop in business, for example. The apartment residents had most of the daily things they needed, such as movies, hygiene products, and food. But when those ran out... what then? What if this wasn't fixed before that happened? It wasn't a very comforting thought. He couldn't exactly go out to work, either. John had some interesting talents, but being everywhere at once to handle challenges wasn't one of them. Police work was one of his skills. Going to work every day was something that John Jones had looked forward to. He liked working. He also liked going on break for coffee and lunch, socializing with the public in those brief periods, continuing to get to know humans on a personal level in his day to day life here. But going to the precinct which was likely filled with clones now.. well, that was obviously not a very good idea, considering the state of things lately. Unless he used his shifting ability to temporarily pose as one of the clones. It would be a sizable risk if he were caught. If he did undertake such a plan, it may be best to keep his distance.
But until he could even think about going out, he had some things to do first. Like washing some clothes, for example. The leather jacket he had now was fine. It would do for a while. He wasn't planning to entertain the idea of taking it to a cleaner shop with Master-replaced employees. But he could handle his normal attire. Simple things such as his various shirts, pants, socks, along with some bed sheets that needed it. He was grateful that the apartment complex had a laundry room so he didn't have to try a public one in the city. After filling a couple baskets, he had soon made it to the washing room and got to work. He had been there a while, having started on the sheets first.. and put them in a large dryer once the wash cycle was done. As he periodically watched the white material turn through looking at the glass, John turned his attention to the other clothes, first separating the whites from the colors and placing them in the washers accordingly. He watched then once he started those up, seeing that he had another basket load that would be done afterward. Thankfully it wasn't a huge load.. it wouldn't really take more than a half hour or forty-five minutes longer in here. But at least it gave him something to do and time to think about the situation. He hoped that a solution would be found. He believed that every problem had an answer, it was just a matter of finding it, and how soon it could be found.. and implemented. So long as nobody got hurt by then and the world was safe.. then he could relax easier. He paused a moment in his thoughts, looking toward one of the spinning dryers that held the sheets. Not too long now; those tended to take the longest and took up most of the space. Once those were finally dry, it would be that much easier to handle the smaller loads that he had going on at the moment as well.
