As Anya looked at Xander, she couldn't help but wonder how she could be standing in this position again. After Olaf, she had sworn off men, only interacting with them to deal out vengeance on behalf of wronged women. Things had gone well for nearly 1,400 years. Then she made the mistake of going to Sunnydale and granting Cordelia a wish which ended up with Anya losing her powers. Looking back on things, Xander and Anya had had quite the odd relationship at first, beginning with that senior prom. Being human again had changed everything for her. Not counting Halfrek, the Scoobies had been the first friends she'd had in her entire life. Sure, she tended to say really horrible things at the worst possible time, but it wasn't exactly her fault. She was socially awkward when it came to humans. But Anya wasn't afraid to name the elephant in the room when everyone else wanted to dance around it and pretend it wasn't there.
"There is that. At least there's no one trying to turn themselves into a full demon." A slight shuddered passed through Anya as she remembered the Mayor. That was one of the only things she truly couldn't handle. "So is there anything being done about avoiding this apocalypse, aside from just us sitting around waiting for someone to tell us what to do?" Not that she was complaining, but this whole sitting around thing didn't exactly sit well with her unless she knew what was going on. Then at least she had a choice of whether she'd stay and face the apocalypse or run off and hide somewhere. Though she was very glad she still had her powers, she had some defense on her part at least. "Is there anything to do around here, except for sitting around?" This was Anya playing nice.
