WHO: Merlin and James Sirius Potter
WHAT: James runs into Merlin. It's a wonder he hasn't pounded on his door before
WHEN: Backdated, yesterday early evening.
WHERE: Complex kitchen
Status: Closed/Incomplete
RATINGS: PG

James was no cooking genius but he could manage to make enough and well enough for himself not to starve. Although back in his world he had his own flat, it hadn't been uncommon to find him in his grandmother's house or his mother's kitchen. Not truly putting those skills to much use. However, since showing up to this world his more than meager skills had been receiving quite the work out. Improving very slowly - much to his frustrations - but surely as the months passed.

He tended to like to make his experiments in his own kitchen. Mostly because he didn't have to worry about people jumping on his back about cleaning time frames. He preferred the largeness of the main kitchen but he would trade it in to avoid the nagging of ... well, a lot of people. James wasn't a fan of being nagged at; most especially by people not family.

He had come down to borrow the olive oil from the main kitchen. When his stomach had been distracted. Yes, he was about to eat. But by the time he was finishing cooking; he'd be hungry again. So it was best to eat now instead of waiting. Because waiting would lead to unbearableness.

Placing the bottle down on the counter next to him, James began rummaging the cabinets for some Fritos. He knew he'd bought some a week ago for the main kitchen. Hopefully someone hadn't eaten it all yet.

Merlin was mostly familiar with a lot of the things here. He knew about different places, and a few types of technology like laptops and cellphones. He was a big fan of all the different types of food too, even though he was told a lot of it wasn't very good for you, but there was still things he was new to. Marshmallows and spicy trail mix were two things he'd bought and tried that weren't what he'd expected. Not that it was ever that big of a deal. Merlin wandered into the kitchen, putting the two bags in the cabinets for other people to have. Someone here always seemed to take and enjoy whatever he didn't like, and Merlin felt less bad about taking things from the kitchen now and then if he put stuff back in return.

"Hello." He smiled at James, always friendly with people he passed in the complex, and peeked into the fridge for something to snack on. Eventually he settled on a piece of fruit, and sat down on a stool. The hike back up eight flight of stairs could wait a little while.
